What's it like to not be really in the service but tell people that you are? I mean, good for you and all, but just remember you're not in yet. I don't know if your that type of person, but I know some kids in ROTC that always tell me about how they like life "in the service."

Please note that I only said I was a midshipman. I didn't say 'service menber'. When people say stuff like "thanks for your service", I never know what to say, I just mumble "uhh... Yeah uhh um ... no prob?", in reality, all I do is run around, get yelled at, and study.... while using an unreasonable amount of your tax dollars to do so (lol u mad?), without spending a dime (I actually made money since school started).
But don't get me wrong, I earned it. Plebe summer was insane. We work hard and don't get to exercise a fraction of the rights you do.******** AESTHETICS CREW

comfortable? lol no. nothing here is comfortable. except for getting to leave on the weekends. but i think this is what i want. I haven't been in long enough to truly decide if i want to be in the navy )lack of experience), but I think i'll stick with it, as I kind of like it.
tons of academic extra curriculars, rowing, took the hardest classes I could (10 college level courses- either AP or dual-cred), 3.8 weighted gpa, top third of class, 34 core ACT average. 1420/1600 (740 Math, 680 CR). oh and i also have a patent pending. and i did well on the CFA. interviews also went well.
yes.******** AESTHETICS CREW

yeah. here:
-don't lose track of deadlines. they're hard deadlines, and if you miss em, you miss em. apply for your congressman's and both your senators' nominations. they will have independent, and different deadlines, and have different things they want from you. keep an eye on everything, and make sure you get that done. if they have interviews, have a presentable, professional resume, and don't be afraid to stretch the truth (don't lie/fabricate though) a bit, as your competitors are too. at the interviews, look and act professional
-be in touch with the school representative in your area (called blue and gold officers for USNA). they will interview you too. same as above. stay on top of your stuff, look crisp, clean, and confident. dress very well. come off as an honorable person. when they ask you about one of your weaker areas, do NOT blame anything on anyone. own up to it. that's valued a ton here. during plebe summer, you can have a perfectly good excuse for doing something, but giving excuses is... well... giving excuses.
- keep your grades up. especially in your AP's, and your science/math courses. those matter the most. kick the shyt out of the SAT/ACT tests. especially the english and math on the ACT (they don't even consider the other two), and math and critical reading on the SAT (writing is not considered)
-work out a lot. do well on the CFA. during the interview, it'd be beneficial to tell them your workout routine, and your goals. before getting here, you want to be atleast at a 6:30 mile, 70 pushups, and 80 situps (2 minutes for each)
g'luck******** AESTHETICS CREW
