Sounds like you might be talkng about Karbach.

Karbach. The Weisse Versa is awesome and for an IPA, the Rodeo Clown went down surprisingly easy. I'm not a big IPA fan but they made that tolerable. The Smoked Porter was kinda blehhh.

I had there Pontificator on growler at D&Q. It was meh. It lacked a malt backbone of good dopplebocks. The plus side was the smoke flavor was not over powering. 32oz went down easily. The Rodeo Clown surprised me at how good and easily drinkable it was. I haven't had any other of there beers.

Choose anything that they make hands down. That is the best Dubbel I have ever had, the Tripel is the second best I have ever had(and I have had at least 30 different ones in the style); and of course ABT12, no comments needed.

Tonights haul was Lagunitas WTF, a Boulavard Gift Pack with there Smokestack series of Dark Truth Stout, an American Imperial Stout, Double Wide IPA, a DIPA, Tanks 7 Farmhouse Saison and Teh 6th glass Belgian quad along with a Boulevard glass. It's a nice glass to add to my collection. While those are chilling for a later date aka tomorrow, I am currently drinking a 2yo bottle of Chimay GR. Night all!

must be noob to thread. All St. Bernardus beers are decent. However, I don't like Abt12 on tap; in bottle, it's much better.

Had a Stone Double Bastard on draft from 2010 last weekend in NC that was left over from a Stone tasting event. Was actually very good. Couldn't really even taste the 11% alcohol in it, had a very smooth flavor and finish, almost a nice sweetness coming through as well. I've got a pic, but it's only the beer in a chalice and isn't too thrilling.

Also have one of these sitting in the fridge at home. Anyone ever have it before? I'm usually not blown away by the stuff from Rogue, but this one just seemed too interesting to pass up:

everyone I know who has tried it has told me that it is pretty terrible and that it is (like most of rogue's offerings), way overpriced...

but, I have not tried it myself.

This. Strong marketing push on it, but its horrendous. Who knows though...maybe you will find something more redeeming than I.

For tonight Im finally going to get around to one of my fresh Alesmith IPAs. Hope its as amazing as I thought it was the first time I tried it.

Sorry...thanks for calling me out!

Sculpin was fantastic, but I think the hype factor played a big role in the slight edge of disappointment I had. Strong standard IPA flavors, but mine had serious bitter bite at the end which I wasnt ready for. I personally prefer a smoother finish...but it was still fantastic.

Green Flash I think is a damn fine and well balanced IPA. Does it make my top 3? No. 5? Maybe if I had it on tap. Quite enjoyable, but doesnt hold up to Furious, Odell, Lagunitas Sucks, etc. as far as my palate is concerned. If it were available were I am, I could definitely see it as being part of my IPA rotation though.

sooo..just realized that the Mikkeller beer geek brunch weasel that i have been aging is made with that super expensive coffee that weasels **** out. awesome. srs

This IPA has a solid malt back bone of banana's and bread that leads way to citrusy yumminess of sweet peach, mango, lemon and finishes off with grapefruit tartness. Very good and very solid brew from Boulevard.

Bought a gift set at Specs. 4 beers and a glass for $14. The beers are the Double Wide IPA, The 6th Glass, Tank 7 Farmhouse and Dark Truth Stout. Up next for tasting will be the Tank 7 Saison.

Nogne is one of my favorite breweries now. I like almost everything they have, outside of that Saison.... groce.
