Can I just say, that work sucks right now. I mean really sucks. We are so short staffed that our workload and hours are ridiculous. Today I left my house at 7:30 a.m. and returned home at 8:45 p.m. All I did today was work and go to the gym. It was a beautiful day and I kept wishing I was outside but noooooo....must work. I don't remember signing up for the "Work Is My Life" program.
However......the gym was awesome!! Swoosh PRs all over the place

Aw sorry to hear work still sucks. Nice PRs, holy crap musta been some a build up of Ham Rage coming out there! I could see Swoosh walking around in her tank at work, muscles flexing, rageface.jpg, scaring the hell out of patients. Lol, I don't know what's more scary, a raging obgyn or an evil dentist! Just kidding with ya Swoosh.

Awesome AWESOME PR's!
Law school counts as work, right? I've spent my entire spring break writing a terrible paper. *sigh* I can't wait for work to start so I can get a break.I'm here to kick ass and chew bubble gum, and I'm all out of bubble gum.

Thanks H! PRs were awesome I really like my VGs on back day. I pretty much only use them for back work and big pulling moves. They're not anything special for pushing moves, just a bit of cushion on the palm of your hand. The palm strap is used in different ways for pushing and pulling moves. But on big pulling lifts where your grip will give out first, they are great. I can definitely lift heavier with them. I've also noticed they take a lot of pressure off my bicep tendons, which is great because I had tendonitis most of last year.
Unfortunately, we will be short staffed for a good 2 months....blerg
They're only normal if you allow them to be Like 2nd_Chance said, you may love your job, but your job does not love you......words to live by, indeed! (Thanks for that piece of wisdom, David. I've taken it to heart)
Yo, yo P-Harty! MAET NOZAMA, b$tch!
Hey, yeah.....I should wear my tank to work. Rageface booyah!! "Dress down....NOW!!! Giant long sharp thing in my hand!!" Scary rage indeed!!
I waited a long time to buy mine and just paid full price but I know Hammie got a good deal. I ordered mine off their website, but she may have gone through Amazon.com, if I remember correctly. I'm a little brain dead after this week, so I may be wrong. I think you will like them....especially since you're already putting up crazy numbers on your lifts!
Me too!!!! Dear Work....how dare you get in the way of all my fun
Thanks, Pai! School!! In some ways, work is a break......just don't expect a Spring Break!Last edited by swooshie; 03-09-2012 at 08:24 PM.

Legs
I felt really good lifting last night, but I woke up this morning with some fairly significant pain in my right delt. It's definitely muscular and it has subsided substantially as the day's gone on....but it's still pretty throbby with some sharp pain with certain movements. DOMS in my back today, which was expected, but I either had sucky form somewhere, or I slept on my shoulder wrong, or both. I haven't had a lifting injury for 8 months now, so I have my fingers crossed that this will ease up soon.
I had an abbreviated leg workout because of.............yep, you guessed it....work
Leg Extensions

60 x 8
Seated Calf Raises/Plate Loaded

95 x 8
And....that was all I had time for....but at least I did that muchLast edited by swooshie; 03-09-2012 at 09:19 PM.

I think you all already know I am a huge advocate of team sports for kids. My kids were all lucky enough to have the athletic ability to play sports through high school and my son played college baseball; however, some kids don't have the ability, means, or opportunity to play on the big club/elite teams. My oldest son has volunteered his time for the past three years to coach basketball through Parks & Recreation. It's a great program for kids who aren't particularly gifted athletes and the majority are underprivileged and probably considered somewhat of an outcast amongst their peers. My son has coached the same group of kids since they were 9 years old. They all get a generic jersey at the beginning of the season that is returned at the end of the season. Other then that, there are no fancy matching uniforms, shoes, warm ups. They teach them good sportsmanship, they gain confidence, they have fun, they shine. I went to one of their games this morning and it was so inspiring and positive. I left smiling.
Here is his team. They play basketball for the sheer joy of playing...
Every year I make a donation through the Women's Sports Foundation, that allows an underprivileged girl to play sports for an entire year. I have always believed that there are so many life lessons learned through sports. Plus, it's just so much fun

Hey all! Work is absolutely insane and there's no end in sight until May so I'm going to close this journal cause as hard as I try I just can't do it all! I'm still committed to my workouts even if they're at 900 at night. I'll pop into everyone's journals when I can to say hi.
