it gets pretty dam good...just keep ur expectations low (and dont compare it to clannad :P)
i find sports animes to be rather lackluster (if they focus too much on the technical side of it). CG is different though, and thats what makes it an epic series.
but i disagree, it doesnt top clannad AS!

The other day, I noticed that if an anime I'm watching is about a game or sport I don't particularly care about, I will probably enjoy it anyway.
Chihayafuru - Didn't even know wtf karuta was until this show. I am loving the series.
Saki - I knew what mahjong was, but not the style they play with. Really enjoyed it. Don't judge me.
Giant Killing - Hate soccer, yet I was always wanting more every time I watched an episode.
Kaiji - Restricted janken and E-Card were intense as fuk.░▄▄▄░░▄░░▄░▄░░▄░░▄░░░░▄▄░▄▄░░░▄▄▄░░░▄▄▄

My 2 cents on Dub vs. Sub: I agree that listening to the original would be better. The Japs take that **** to a whole nother level. Anime is almost (or is already) more important than real life acting. Listening to Clannad with the real actors would be amazing.
However, I enjoy watching the action. Im an extremely visual+audio learner (or consumer of media). Even though in Clannad theres no action, per se, I simply enjoy watching them speak even if theres hardly any animation.
Also, IMO, the english dub of Clannad was a ****ing 100/100. Best Ive ever heard.
In other news, im 2 episodes deep into Afro Samurai. Fuuuuck I love this style of animation. Its beautiful to watch. Story is ok. Sam Jackson is lulzy. only 5 episodes, bertstare.jpg

Only if you reach the boundary will the boundary recede before you. And if you don't, if you confine your efforts, the boundary will shrink to accommodate itself to your efforts. And you can only expand your capacities by working to the very limit.

Yeah, voice acting is taken way more seriously in Japan and there's actual emotion put into the voices unlike in the US where its same guy who sounds like a piece of paper.
Spoilers for the Sengoku Basara movie but I'd like to hear any dub that compares to the epicness of this

sub = better then dubbed. Dubbed always makes the people sound so stupid and annoying...

subtitles take too long to read
Finished Afro Samurai. took me all of one plate of chicken and rice, a workout shake and a tuna sammich. Good show. The art and animation were thoroughly satisfying. Ima guess work like that takes a long time and is more expensive than something simple like OnePiece. Anybody interested should go watch it. Its only 10 episodes, even if you dont like it, youd have only wasted 1 or 2 fap sessions.Last edited by 21Classic; 01-20-2012 at 10:22 AM.

Please tell me someone here is reading The Breaker: New Waves. This manga is alpha as fuk. Next to Holyland its probably the best martial arts manga i've read.
I recommend The Breaker to anyone who wants to see some badass fightsHow far do we have to stretch the truth, to fit the lifestyles borrowed and overdue?- Nujabes R.I.P.

Anyone which watched anime dubbed is a tool and doesn't deserve to watch anime in the first place.

yea. toriko is good too. top 3 shounen right now.
well, i'd say it's one of the most mature shounen titles out there. there's death, violence and a lot of tactics involved. it's as realistic as a supernatural manga gets. there's so much thought behind every single little detail that it almost makes the world genuine.
that's what i think.
gon (main character) is a very gifted kid physically and he has natural talents. it follows him as he tries to reach his dad's world and status (one of the top hunters in the planet)... won't say more. We're All Gonna Make It

Yes i completely agree. The Breaker was definitely the better of the two but things are starting to get good in New Waves and im hoping that master ends up showing his face again.
I've never heard of Veritas or Sun Ken Rock but they look pretty sick. Which one would you recommend me reading first? How far do we have to stretch the truth, to fit the lifestyles borrowed and overdue?- Nujabes R.I.P.
