Hey guys, just wondering if I could bother you to guess my bf%. It may be kinda hard to tell cause I have alot of loose skin around my hips/belly(ex 330-lber ) and a decent case of gyno but I'm sure alot of you guys can see around that stuff. Weighed in at exactly 230.0 the day the pics were taken. To give you an idea of bone structure, the waistband of my underwear is right on the hip/pelvic bone. Sorry they're kind of blurry, I have shaky hands.

I'd put you at or around 30%.
You don't look like you have gyno as of right now, looks more like ordinary fat. Just keep cutting and you'll see the loose skin and "gyno" improve a lot. I'm willing to bet you have no gyno at all.
You got a nice base to cut down to (unlike me).-ARRIVE

Thanks man, doing my best. Yeah, after looking at your avi we definitely have a similar build. Wish I was as lean as you are right now, but I'm working on it!
Damn lol, I figured I got down to and passed 30% 15+ lbs ago. Guess I better keep working! Thanks for the estimate.Current bests

Ouch, I guessed I was around 22-25. I appreciate the honest answers fella's, even if the truth is a bit discouraging. Obviously I've got more work to do! I'll be taking some more progress pics at the end of the month, maybe I'll revive this thread and post 'em up for whoever's interested.

Powerlifting for 5 years, benching 360 at my peak, with a lbm of 138? That's a little ****ing harsh bro.
*Edit: Does anybody know how I could go about trying to roughly calculate my starting bodyfat%? I'm incompetent at math. Just for lulz, here's a picture of me ~2 weeks before I started the cut at just over 300.

161 lbs of lbm on a 5.10 frame IS a lot of muscle. You need to understand that. You may be a bit closer to 30 than 40....However, I will concede that. The only way to know for sure is to cut down and come back to this thread in 6 months and talk to us about your weight being much lower than you anticipated.

OP, just b/c you powerlifted doesn't mean you can't be in the high 30s in BF. b/c of your loose skin it's a little hard to judge, but my first guess was high 20s currently, due to the way your love handles are still quite 'there.' if you hadn't let yourself go too much, all the muscle under your frame woulda given you an awesome physique to cut to, and you'll still have a great one, but b/c of how much your skin has stretched from obesity you're gonna have to live with a little loose skin. great job nonetheless. but at this point worrying about bodyfat percentage is a waste of time. just keep cutting and lifting.

True enough. In my defense the truth is often a tough pill to swallow I'll be taking regular(monthly) progress pictures, so maybe I'll use this thread for those updates. Whether it takes me to 200 lbs or 120 lbs, I'll keep working at it! Repped on recharge.
To sharpieblet(sorry didn't see your post til after I posted this), yes I realise that, I was just kinda butthurt about the 40% as it would point to a very low LBM. I was kinda shocked/discouraged by the answers I got, but after some deliberation I realised I was looking at it the wrong way. Now that you all have pointed out how deep into self-delusion I was, I have even more motivation to keep busting ass and shedding pounds! I look forward to the rest of my weightloss journey(and gaining all my strength back aftwerwards!)and will gladly fill you guys in at each milestone. Again, repped on recharge.
On a sidenote, I lost most of my weight(300-240) in about two months. Do you think maybe I went too quickly and lost more LBM than is acceptable?Last edited by mcfadden47; 11-03-2011 at 08:04 PM.

It's definitely hard to judge it right now. You do have some great results though! Continue to work hard you'll be there before you know it!
