    Is this even possible?

So I'm REALLY wanting to see my abs for the first time in my life. (Sounds stupid I know) But I was wondering if it is possible to lean out, without losing my gains from the past 4 months, and still continue to build muscle. Basically all I'm trying to do is cut my gut so I can see my abs. I know I have to cut down my carbs some and start cardio. For the past week my macros have been as follows:

    168g protein
    148g carbs
    51g fat

I weight 163 right now and stand 5'9".
I started doing 2 20 minute cardio sessions every day 7 days a week.

All my macros come from quality sources such as lean steak, chicken breast, brown rice, whole wheat pasta, eggs, protein shakes, etc.

So is this possible? Thanks for helping a some-what noob!

    calorie deficit, heavy lifting, profit.

low intesity cardio doesnt break down muscle or hinder performance either.

Your macros look pretty good just keep at it until something needs to be changed.

Your still a newbie and should still see some gains even while in a cut. If you want to go for it, then go for it.

Have you calculated your macros per the stickies?

I don't know much about your individual situation but based on your stats your fat intake as well as your total caloric intake seems low (even for a deficit)

Yes. I'm eating around 500 below maintenance cals. The cardio I'm doing is low intensity (mostly brisk walking, or maybe a 10-15 minute run)

My maintenance is 2290 cals/day. I'm eating around 1850 which is a deficit of 450. Is this too little or too much? Appreciate the help everyone!

Keep lifting heavy and stay with your small calorie deficit and you'll maintain most all your gains. Strength may go down a bit in a few areas but it shouldn't be that significant.

I'll do that. I'll stay at this deficit for 2 weeks and see if I get results. If not, I'll re-calculate my maintenance cals and adjust my deficit if needed.
