In fact Islam respects jews because Jews are also monotheistic and follow many similar laws to the muslims, Ie, hallal and Kashrut. The israeli palestinian conflict is really a conflict of political nationalism, and religion is being used to back both sides. religion should remain completely separate in that the palestinian plight has little to do with Islam or Israeli oppression of Islam, and the Jewish state was not based on Judaism merely as a place for Jews to live, it is not based on any religious values and is a secular state. Religion is being used to encourage and justify extremism and violence where discussion needs to be focussed on politics .

I never said there was no persecution I was pointing out that many places under muslim rule were much better to the Jews than the Christian rulers were. For example, Muslim spain was better to the Jews than christian spain was. Also, throughout the muslim empire, Jews were able to rise in ranks, many sultans had Jews for doctors and advisors whereas it would be forbidden in Christian kingdoms. According specifically to the Koran, Jews are monotheists and should not be harmed. Most of the extreme hate against Judaism comes specifically from extremists and it is not based on factual religious doctrine.
