Sorry broseph, have to disagree with you there. I don't take pride in my gender. I am very happy I am a guy though. I love being a guy and all the things that come with it, esp not having to deal with female things like birth, periods, etc. But I see no reason why I should be proud of the fact. I love my family, and there may be instances when I am proud of them, but I am proud in those instances for what they have accomplished, not for the arbitrary reason they are related to me.

I am proud of things I accomplish such as performing a certain way in school, making progress in the gym, having certain qualities as a person, etc. Things that I have had to do, not things that I was born with. I made no decision to be white before I was born. The fact that I am white is no accomplishment for me, it is nothing I have done, therefore I am not proud of the fact. I admit that it most likely makes my life easier, living in the US and being a part of the majority. But so does that fact that I am straight. Luck of the draw.
