    Thighs / Lower Body

Morning all - newbie but not so new here - just looking for some useful advice. I know the notion of spot reducing or targeting is a myth - but as a child i was always overweight and now that i have lost weight, I have trouble keeping my lower body in proportion to my upper.

I carry extra weight in my thighs and butt (sorry for the term) - and wondering what routines i can focus on that will better target that area to keep fat gain to a minimum.

Any help would be appreciated - and reps to sound advice.

    Thank you!

Lift weights and do cardio - that's the simplest way (outside the kitchen) to maximize muscle growth and minimize fat gain.

Hit your lower half with powerful moves like squats and deadlifts.

I really like lunges. For me I feel them all over, I know some people only feel them in certain parts though. The day or two after I do them I can't sit down without hurting. Plus they really get my heartrate up. And then you could always do other compound movents. Squats, deadlifts, etc.

you cant spot reduce fat, but what you can do is build muscle in your legs as you reduce fat all over to give your thighs the impression of being more toned. lots of squats, lunges and deadlifts.
