When I look at a power rack I look for
Is it stable
can it hold the weight I need it to
Is there a spot for Pull-ups (straight bar)
can I do dips on it or rig up some dip bars on it.
Am I paying to much just because it comes with a crappy lat pull down attachment and a frail "adjustable bench"Pullups Max reps: 40 reps
Max weighted pullup:
206.2 lbs x 1 rep
165 lbs x 6 reps
135 lbs x 8 reps
100 lbs x 14 reps
Bench: 365 lbs
Squat: 405 lbs
Deadlift: 505 lbs
Press:225 lbs

Thanks,
How do you like it? I haven't looked for any weider stuff as a lot of people here seem to steer you away from them. Is it made decently? Thanks
I like the design though, similar to parabody and tuff stuff. I am not too fond of the ones with the bars to pull out and adjust, but seems like most are made that way.

Man this forum is bad news. All I wanted were dumbbells and an adjustable bench and no I'm seriously considering trying to stick a power rack in my apartment. Thinking about converting my dinning room(not like I use it anyways, it only has a fold out card table in it) into power rack room, but I measured and it is only 7' 6" wide, so I think that is a bit too tight of a fit.
And there are 0 power racks for sale on CL in Indy.

Shouldn't you be lifting something heavy instead of reading this?

Honestly I never use the dining room anyways, always use the couch/coffee table. So it is only a matter of time before I get my rack. I'm leaving to visit family soon, so I will probably hold off till after the holidays before pulling the trigger. If I can keep some patience I'm sure I can get a sweet deal eventually.
Good idea on the 6' bar, I didn't know they worked like that.

So i figure it's worth a shot posting in here even though the misc seems to get responses fast.
I'm moving from my commercial gym to a home gym due to a change in life style along with getting sick of the increasing fees.
Looking at getting a power rack with the bb's/db's to match. We already have a nice pull up/dip/bench set up however the weights and bars aren't to my liking. The current gear is used by my younger brother you see.
Anyhow, I'm looking at this rack right now, it's the best price i can find around my area (Perth, australia) and i've checked out the 2nd hand options aswell but have not been able to find any. It's flooded with damn multigym set ups!
it's $700 which is rather pricey for what it is imo but it's workable. (max budget for my upgrade is 1500 which must include the weights)
The largest problem i think will be the size because i'm pretty tall i need a big rack (dimensions of mentioned rack are 82"H x 49"L x 46"W and i'd feel like a hamster)
Any opinions are appreciated, especially from taller people in regards to size issues...

Hopefully i can find a bigger frame, if i can pick the weights up 2nd hand that will give me a fair bit more money to play with. If worst comes to worst i'll blow my budget if i can find a well sized/suited rack because it's pointless getting equipment that i'll hate (i will stop using it quickly because i'm used to quality gym gear)

How tall are your ceilings? I still have a commercial rack for sale that I got in August and don't need. Its way overkill for an apartment, but for what I want for it I guarantee you won't get a nicer rack for less money. This is a beaut, but its 9' tall. Probably a long shot that you can fit this puppy in your apartment, but I live in Columbus so we could make something happen if you do. Just checking.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #4 ▪█─────█▪
