There's no reason to "cycle" creatine. That was a concept that supplement companies used to create a psychological link in consumers' minds between creatine and steroids, in an attempt to make them think they're getting something similar to the worthwhile stuff. There's no backing of that concept.
Your body = a building under construction
Food = bricks
Hormones = workers
(supplements = worthless decorations)
You can bring in all the workers you want, but if you don't bring in extra bricks for them to use, they can't do any more work.

i did find this
Q: Do I need to Cycle Creatine?
A: My recommendation is to load for 5 days, followed by a 5-10 gram maintenance dosage for 4-6 weeks. Following this, there are two particular strategies:
1. You can take one to two weeks off and then start the cycle over. Many athletes attest to receiving a better results this way.
2. However, several athletes will never come off of it. They will load it for 5 days, maintain for a few weeks and then reload again. This is increasingly becoming the more popular method of usage.

I take it only on training days. It's a form of "microcycling." Most of the current research appears to support this indirectly regarding creatine turnover rates and transporter expression.

I usually do 5 grams a day for 40-50 days and then take 2-3 weeks off. Been getting steady gains from this method. Get some cheap mono like prolab creatine mono. They sell 20 five gram servings for $2.99. I use that and throw some Supp direct Beta-alanine in the mix and get great strength and mass gains. Cheap, bulk stacks FTW!

I have read somewhere and if I find it again Ill post the link to the study, but the study stated that the loading phase depletes your bodies natural production of creatine. It said that it should be taken 3-7 grams per day depending on bodyweight. Dont know really how much there is behind that, but it was a published study so I will do some searching and see if I can find it again.
Pain is temporary, It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit however, it lasts forever. That surrender, even the smallest act of giving up, stays with me. So when I feel like quitting, I ask myself, which would I rather live with? Facing up to that question, and finding a way to go on, is the real reward, better than any trophy. -Lance Armstrong
