gaspari said he gained mass & strength v.fast as a teenager ( i think squatting over 500 still in school) & himself said thats evidence of good genetics.
ppl confuse poor aesthetics with poor genetics.
good aesthetics are just the icing on the cake.

well
I really don't train hard at all, and I really don't work out much and I'm able to maintain the physique I have now. I just keep my diet almost 100% in check. Think I have a good enough "structure" to be a "top pro"? edit, given of course lets call it "perfect conditions"

I don't plan on just being a pro to be honest, I will be Mr.Olympia in about 10 years time. I'm currently building my base. I have wide clavicles, large shoulders, large back, large legs, good symmetry, most of all my muscles grow easily.only muscle lagging is my chest, and thats not even a genetic issue, it's a lack of quality training for chest, I fell into the whole more weight = big chest, lifted 315 in my first 2 months of bodybuilding so...no that didnt work.
I'm working on getting that Sandow. Sorry if it comes off as being cocky, it's not, I just know what I want, I set my goal, and I am doing everything to get to it.

judging from ur pics, its really impossible to tell what kind of body you have, your no where near muscular enough or conditioned enough to display the real colors of ur budy composition..., no hating just saying , u can tell if someone has potential as a top tier pro when they have a body level for competitions like npc state champs or something like that...

Props to people saying they dont have the commitment to become a pro...
And the rest who talk about genetics... First eat, train and rest right for a couple of years with consistency and then talk about genetics. Maybe then 1% of people here could complain about how they have ****ty genetics and thus look like ****.
So much talk about genetics... Its as tho pros dont train harder then your average amateur BBer...
Take a look at Yates and Nasser in their 20's and their starting point... And then take a look at Cutler when he started BBing as a kid...
Ofcourse most people dont have genetics to be as big as most pros but lets be honest here: Most people dont have the will to become a pro.
And sure there are better and worse responders to juice, but most people who are average responders and want to achieve something, blame genetics. Put more hard work and consistency into it and you will suddenly become a better responder...
The fact that you dont look like your "friend" who is 6', 200lbs with a six pack, yet he eats what he wants and drinks every week doesnt mean you have ****ty genetics...
Remember the good old saying... The better i eat and train, the better my genetics seem to get.

Id love to make pro. Right now i just take it one show @ a time. Work to make improvements and be better each time I step onstage and if pro is the outcome... Damn right. I make good money already and understand that in order to make it as a top bodybuilder you have to Hustle yourself. You are the commodity. Like alot of us on here i have my weaknesses, high lats, tall, narrow shoulders (but lucky enough to have a tiny waist 31"), short triceps, but i'll take it show by show.

I dream to be like Lee Labrada, Benfatto or Gaspari. That dream stopped when I learned that it takes not only steroids but also outstanding genetics to achieve it.
There are lightweight, middleweight and heavyweight pros. I can be a lightweight pro, if I want to, and still be a nobody because heavyweight pros rule the sport.

My Quest for a Pro Card
I've been trying for years to get my pro card. Some time ago, I was actually banned for a few years from setting foot onto Weider property, including attending Weider events, all for just wanting my PRO CARD!
This is how all the trouble started...
I hope you will take up my cause and flood the IFBB with emails protesting thier refusal to grant me my rightfully deserved pro-card. Despite proving my worth, the powers that be at the IFBB have ignored my requests, and I sense some form of discrimination is afoot.
The following is a true story.
I had travelled to Montreal, Canada, (first class of course) with my chauffeur/training partner/ex-convict, Nobby, to get my pro card from the Weider head office.
I had sent them my photos several times, which gave Wayne Demilla good views of my enourmous arms, monstrous legs, and overall Herculean development which would quash every competitor at the Mr. Olympia. My requests to be granted a pro card went unanswered, so I had, in a fit of rage, taken a flight to Montreal to settle the matter in person.
As we got out of the rented Jaguar, we ran into none other than Bob Paris in the parking lot! "Bob- are you going to compete again?" I asked. "Well, we'll see...not for now....I've gotta run boys.." and with that he skipped off into a pink cadillac and roared off, the stereo blasting the 70s hit 'YMCA'.
"There goes one of the GREATS" I uttered, with reverence.
"Seemed loik a fookin POOFTAH to me!" Nobby snarled.
Nobby and I lumbered up to the front doors of Weider Headquarters and threw them open with such force that they shattered. I walked up to the front desk, and addressed the terrified looking 'receptionist' with a roar of "TAKING CHARGE!!! GET ME DEMILLA NOOWWWW!!" that was so loud all the windows in the building rattled. "Just a minute..." the young woman at the desk snivelled, and quickly picked up a phone and said "Get down here...now...pleeeaaasse!!".
I surmised that she must have been speaking to Joe Weider.
Just then, several security guards approached Nobby and I, and in an instant, Nobby had his motorbike chain in hand and began beating the guards off, screaming. I grabbed a couple of them and hurled them through the reception desk, demolishing it.
Wayne Demilla appeared, and was astonished to see the guards had one and all been dealt with. "Well, Wayne....where's my ****ING card?!!" I screamed, then ran charging over and clotheslined him with such force that he did a perfect backflip and hit the floor, unconscious.
As the sound of police sirens neared, Nobby and I ran out the front door, laughing, and made our escape.
I'd given them a piece of my mind, and that night I slept the sleep of the Just.
This is unfair. I deserve a pro card, and, by God, they know it!
I am thinking of pressing assault charges against Weider Inc. for the behaviour of those security guards!!Last edited by Victorian guy; 10-13-2008 at 03:46 PM. Reason: grammatical error; offensive material deleted

I am an endomorph through and through, so I doubt I have much chance.
I have way too many opportunities in my life to pursue. I'd love to be a pro bodybuilder, but I don't think I can afford to put my family through that. It would be selfish and dumb. But! - I'd love to compete in some shows.
I also am into powerlifting, so that kind of gets in the way. I was bodybuilding for a while, and gained about 50 pounds, but I think I could look alot better. I don't eat right, and I hate cardio. I also don't want to do a bunch of roids. I do plan to do some cycles eventually, but I am not looking to pump myself full of a bunch of substances.
Whatever though. I love to train. I like getting bigger. And I love getting stronger. **** it...Saying "no homo" makes what you said even more homo

I'm training to be a natural pro. I have no aspirations to become an IFBB pro, and am not willing to do what it takes to get to that level. I always think it would be a huge gamble to make the switch from natural, cuz if genetically you don't respond well to gear, then you've jeopordized your natural bodybuilding career only to have no career in the IFBB....
