I've been to ten weddings and not one was in a church.
Seriously, the last thing I think of when I hear marriage is church and religion. With 51% of marriages ending up in divorce I would like to know exactly what is the sanctity of marriage that needs protecting from them there gays?

I don't know if you've seen the full videos of the Youtube clips you've posted, but if you haven't, I can point you in the right direction...they're spread around various free sites around the 'net.
Oh hai gay-bashers. I love when gay-bashers use religion to legitimize their arguments against homosexual marriage. Completely goes against everything the Constitution stands for.

The only thing that could be wrong with being gay is if a certain religion is against it, thus that religion must prove to be true before being gay is wrong.

I'm pretty sure it has to be by the proper authorities. Doing it yourself would mean breaking the law. It would have to be a function of government and if there wasn't government then it'd have to be a public event type of thing. That's how I understand it anyways. It's not like a single person can go and kill them. Again, this is how i understand it though. i might be incorrect but I'm like 90% sure.

Government does NOT recognize religious marriage. It recognizes the state CIVIL marriage. No marriage performed in a religious institution is valid without a state CIVIL license. You cannot walk into an empty church, or a forest or beach, say vows to God and each other and expect to be married. People need to get that through their thick heads. State and federal governments are denying CIVIL marriages to gays.

If we're an Hebrew in the ancient theocracy of Israel this would be an applicable law.

Exactly.
I hope this won't ever happen. If a religion promoting a God that condemned people for being born (created) gay was proven true, it would become clear that we are a random offshoot from the cock of an extreme sadist with the emotional maturity of a 5-year-old human.
In countries with significant religious populations, anarchy would surely ensue.

I don't think its my priorities, I just don't understand. Why, why do you want to marry? What's the point? Is it for the State to say they agree, is it for the benefits, is it the ritual of a ceremony? I just don't see the benefit. For me my marriage is a commitment to my wife that I will follow certain things that the bible clearly states are my responsibility. I personally don't care what you do in your own life but it would seem to make little since to take the term "marriage" and try to make it your own. Since the inception of the word its been understood that a marriage is between a man and a woman. So, it would seem to make since that if you like the idea of commitment and staying faithful in a relationship and want a way to symbolize that promise come up with your own thing. It would be no different then me taking someone else's ritual for my own personal gain. I'm not giving you the concept of marriage. It's not for me to give. What I want to know is why you would want the concept of marriage in the first place seeing that it is general understood as a religious term. Would you also like your own baptism?
I'm not against gays. There are just certain things that I hold very close to my heart that are important to me. My marriage is one of them.Ever make fun of someone so much that you feel you should thank them for all the good times?

We're not going to take your marriage away from you. We make life commitments too. And when we make those life commitments and build a life together, we'd like to protect our partners legally when we die. We'd also like to be legally recognized while we're alive. If you don't know what all these legal protections are Google "marriage protections". It's all out there to search on.
Keep your religious ceremonies if that is so important. But remember this... there are religious denominations that are happy to bless same sex unions. Does that make it a marriage? Of course not, but no more than yours is a marriage without a civil license."Go home, have a beer and smash something. That's what I would do" - Unknown (but probably Thor).

DOMA. Defense Of Marriage Act. Passed by Congress, signed by Bill Clinton. DOMA says that neither the federal government nor states are required to recognized same sex marriages, domestic partnerships, nor civil unions performed in any state.
