So today was my last appointment before Jonathan is here Monday.
Had sono today.
Anyhow...
Today(37 weeks 6 days) he was measuring at 6lbs 4oz, so that could of course go a lbs to a few oz, either way.
I'm 1cm dilated, there is some effacement, a tiny bit more than last week, but not much apparently. She didn't give me percentages.
So after talking to her, and since she'll more than likely be giving me the cervadil(?) Monday morning to prep for my induction, we're going to go ahead and have me admitted Sunday night to start the cervadil. I thought I could go home after it, and wait for something to happen. Apparently not. I've been having a lot fo contractions, cramping and lower back ache today. Yesterday was a lot of lower cramping and contractions/stomach tightening.

So in short: Jonathan is fine. Doc still thinks he'll do better outside. Still has me diagnoised with IUGR(intrauterine growth restriction). I'll be admitted to the hospital Sunday night. They are going to call me later with a time to go in. Start the cervix rippening stuff Sunday night, and basically wait from there, and hopefully things will get to moving by 6am Monday morning. Not sure how all that works, even with talking to the doc, since I've never been induced before. But regardless, I should be holding our baby boy sometime on Monday.

Ok quick update. I'll be admited to the hospital Sunday night at 7pm. They do have wireless access in the rooms. So I'll more than likely be taking my laptop.

Jonathan Alexander was born Monday August 11, 2008 at 4:33pm (central)
weighing in at 5lbs 12oz, and 19 inches long. Completely healthy and wonderful. He's taken to breastfeeding great! was doing it awesome within the first 30 minutes of being born. He's doing great, and I am doing great. No stitches or anything. I'm a bit sore down below, and where my epi was. My only major source of pain the crampsfrom the uterus shrinking back down. Now those are horrid.
We could actually be leaving today, but the pedi won't be able to do his circum. until tomorrow AM. I could take him later to the doc office, and get it done. But we're just going to stay. Even though I'd REALLY like to go home. I can't get any sleep here with someone coming in and bugging me every hour just about. So I'll be heading home early am tomorrow

The birth was long and boring. lol Even painfree actually. The most painful part was before the epidural when I'd get exams, and now afterwards with the cramping. I stayed dilated to a 1 forever. The pitocin was started at 5am yesterday. The cervidil did nothing. The pitocin didn't do much really it seemed. It wasn't even that painful. They did my epi at about 10:50 because I wanted one, eventually, but the epi guy was going to busy with 2 c-sections, and apparently the place was full with birthing mom's yesterday. My doc came in to check me at 11, and I was still only dilated to 1, but she was able to break my water by barely doing anything.
Then it was just really boring after that. Inducing did what I was worried it would do. Slow down, what is normally in our family something that goes quickly. At 3pm I was finally a 4. I couldn't get up to move around though to help things, so they kept having me flip sides. Finally I asked to be set UP to help gravity. They only let me do it for about 10 minutes, but even in that 10 minutes, I could feel the contractions being stronger.
Then she laid me back down to change my towels and stuff. As soon as she was done with that, I felt the "it's time for labor" pressure. Sure enough, I was at a 10.
So we waited for the doc to get over there. Only took 3 contractions and pushing through them to get him out. He came out screaming. It was a wonderful sound. He's perfect. Didn't need anything. No oxygen, no heat lamps, no nothing. And still doesn't. I've kept him with me the whole time. He's only left me to go have tests and what not run.
Ok, he's waking upish, and it's time for his feeding. I forgot to bring the camera cord to upload pictures to the laptop, so I'll have to upload pictures when I get home tomorrow.

I just took these. We're home finally. So I wanted to get a "at home" shot. He's not even 48 hours old yet. awe. I'm working on all the other pictures from the hospital. But I wanted to get these two out, so you could at least see him.

He's got blonde hair, blonde eye lashes. And of course, the normal new baby grey/blueish eyes.
He got his circum. today. So he's a bit tired and worn out. Poor little guy. But so glad we're home.

Hey ladies! Sorry for the lack of response! Been "busy."

Everything is going wonderful. Jonathan is just as well behaved as Allison was as a baby. Already in/on his own feeding schedule. Rarely cries or fusses. He's great. Breastfeeding is going wonderful still. He eats every 2-3 hours like clock work. But I'm still getting plenty of rest at night. Occasionally I might take a nap during the day with him, if Allison is taking a nap. The boobs are doing great too. lol I had to go get new bigger bras though. He's made me be an F! Never had boobs that were an F before. Hubs is upset because he doesn't get to "enjoy" them. haha Even with Allison they didn't go past a D-DD. So hardly anything fits me right. Grr! I did go out and buy some nursing shirts though.

Allison is doing great. She's adjusting pretty well. She's more "needy" than normal. More/less wanting more attention. Nothing major though. She's getting a lot better. Loves being a big sister, and is just amazed by Jonathan. She'll check on him when he gets hiccups, or starts to fuss. Still a bit curious about Mommy breast feeding him. The day he was born she asked.. "Why is Jonathan eating your boobie?"
So if I'm not feeding him, then I'm usually entertaining Al, and also trying to do my chores. Because of course, I'm still a neat freak.

I'm doing great. Cramping has gone almost away. No need for pain pills anymore. If I'm too busy one day though, I do get pretty sore down below. But this recovery is SO much better than with Allison, since with her I had some tearing. And the stomach muscles get sore every now and again, since everything is trying to go back to "normal." But I'm only 7 days post partum, so it's to be expected.

As far as who he looks like. Really, I don't know. I think he's just a good mixture of both of us. Only 2 people have really said that he looks like my husband. Other than that, everyone pretty much agrees, that it's just a mix of us both. Which is funny because Allison was a complete twin of my husband when she was born. As she got older, she finally started taking on my traits. As far as those two go. They both have the same nose, and big eyes.

Today Jonathan had his first doctor's appointment. He's a whole 2 weeks old today!
He got a great bill of health. He got one shot today. He did great. Only cried for a second or two.

His birth stats were: 5lbs 12oz 19 inches long, head was 12 inches.

Discharge morning-40hours after birth- 5lbs 6oz

Two weeks old- He's now 7lbs, 20 inches long, and his head circum is 13inches.
hurray! He's been strictly breastfed, no formula what-so-ever, not even at the hospital. He eats every 2 hours like clock work. Occasionally he may go 3 hours, or just an hour. He never cries, unless pissed off during a changing, or wanting to eat and not be changed. He doesn't fuss much either. He's really a great baby. Glad I was blessed twice by having great infants.
Today his cord stump finally fell off too.

bah Wednesday sucked. I spent the day at the vet office. One of our beagles has epilepsy. He's started it last July. We've never got him treated for it, because his sezuires weren't that bad, and came pretty infrequently. Well, Tuesday night he had two of them within about 30 minutes of each other, he's had clusters before. The first one he bit his tongue pretty badly. Then yesterday afternoon at about 12, I went outside, and noticed he looked a little off. Like maybe he had just had another sezuire recently. Within 15 minutes of me being out there, he had one. Then about 30 minutes later he had another. So decided to load him and the kids up to head to the vet. While I was getting everyone and everything in the van, he has another in the back of the van. On they way to vet office, he has 4 (the office is only 20-30 miuntes away depending on traffic). So I have someone come out and get him, so I can get the kids. He has another 2 while on the exam table, even before every totally coming out of the other sezuires. They can't help him for whatever reason, so tell me to go to the emergency clinic up the street. Ok, go there, it's only about 10-15 minutes up the road. In that time frame he has 2 more. Get someone to come out and get him, and they take to the back, were he has 2 more before they can get him drugged with ****** to calm him enough to try to stop the sezuires. Hours later, the doc finally comes out, and tries to give me the price for him to stay overnight.. $600 something.. eh, no way. I ask what they would be doing... nothing, jsut watching him, to make sure the anti-sezuire meds work right, and that he doesn't choke if he throws up again and whatnot. Uhm.. no, I can do that at home. They want to run a full blood panel on him to make sure there isn't anything else wrong. *sigh* I agree. That brings me to a total of $410, for everything with him NOT staying the night. Hubs would've put him to sleep. But I couldn't do that. Not when I knew once they got him stable, his condition is treatable/maganable with medication. So from 1:30 to 6:15pm when we finally got home, the kids and I spent the day in Dallas at the vet offices. Jonathan got nursed in exam rooms. ha.
Thursday, Ranger, is walking around. Wobbly, but moving around, and still a little "out of it." Gave him his medication, which for the first week to 2 weeks will make him a little "loopy" and tired, but should level off. He has to have it 2x a day. The mg's may need to be adjusted later. But right now he has a month supply, and it will be adjusted accordingly.
So today, Friday, he's still acting "different." But with as bad as his seizures were, and on top of the medication, it's going to take a awhile for him to act normal again. He acts skitsh around you. At night I've been having to go outside and pick him to bring him in because he's not seeing very well I think, and gets scared of me, and trots away from me.

And then Wednesday morning at 6am, we get a call on the cell phone. DH's maternal grandmother passed away that morning(1:30am). But since they all are from down by the coast, making plans for a funeral is difficult. Their town (Anahauc) didn't get any flooding really, thankfully, but did get wind damage, and of course, has no power. Well, they found another funeral home to do it, but they still can't do anything because of no power, and she'll be buried in the cemetary in Anahauc. So we're waiting on news and updates about that, for when we'll need to drive down there.

I've started working on cleaning out hte shed for my weight set. So here in the next month or so I shall be starting a work out routine, and eating massive amounts of food, since I'm also breastfeeding.

Jonathan is doing great. He's getting so big. He's starting to have more awake time. He just looks at everything, and is starting to smile more. He's just too cute. Al is still just inlove with her little brother.

Ok time to finish my shopping list, hop in the shower real quick, feed a baby possibly and get to my errands.

They finally decided on a funeral date for hubs grandma. It's this Friday. But he'll be going alone. There is still no power down there, and all the hotels/motels are booked full. He doesn't even know where he is going to stay. He may be sleeping in the truck. So the kids and I are going to be staying home. If it weren't a disaster area, we'd go with him. He leaves tomorrow morning.

Had my 6 week PP appointment. I'm good to go. Now waiting for October 17th when we get hubby snipped.

Almost done with the shed. I'll probably start up lifting again sometime next month. Once I start I'm going to have to be eating A LOT. For muscle and for breastfeeding.
Everyone is doing great. Even the dog. So far he's been seizure free, and is starting to be less ... out of it, for lack of better words.

hurray! I have my "gym" now. I have the shed cleaned out and my weights set up. Now I just need to make me a lifting routine, and plan out a good diet that will still keep my milk supply high, but also help me shed of some of this extra weight.
