Hey guys, so I'm looking to start working out at home after my gym membership just ran out. I hate driving all the way there, and would just much rather workout at home.
I'm looking at this: http://www.bayoufitness.com/Body-Sol...CH-GDIB46L-253
and this:
http://www.bayoufitness.com/Marcy-MW...mpic-Bench-218
Both seem pretty good to me, all i would need is a 200-300lb Olympic weight set with a barbell. I already have some adjustable dumbbells. What do you guys think?
Anyone have any opinions or experience with either?
Would i be better off investing in a smith machine? The height might be a problem though...

wow, no way in hell can you compare marcys quality to that of Body-solid. BODYSOLID will always blow it out of water.
I rep back, just sayin.

If I were you, I would get something like this...http://www.newyorkbarbells.com/92565.html. It not that tall nor does it take up that much space... I don't think? (I don't own one)
I had a bench like the one your planing on buying. Trust me It sucks having to roll a barbell off of your chest. Or having to dump a barbell behind you if you get stuck at the bottom of a squat. I wouldn't trust the Marcy safety supports. There too short you have to be in the right spot in order for them to work.

How is that body solid better? i was thinking of buying that Marcy one on Academy because it was the only one with Squat Rack, that BS one doesn't even looks like it has the support to put the bar behind your neck to squat
Edit: its not the marcy monster in academy, although its identical, what's the dif?

Try Modell's
I have seen the Marcy, I think the Marcy beats the Body Solid in this case. the Marcy Striker plates are made of plastic to reduce the noice of weights dropping on bench and is rated for 800 lbs. weight capacity. The Body solid I have not seen but looks like it was built from file cabinet scraps.
