Rotator cuff exercises, shoulder work outs, arm workouts, trunk twists...probably a lot more that I'm missing.

You use your chest muscles a lot in golf & your back muscles. The rotator cuff exercises would be great also. Make sure you remember to stretch afterwards. It just helps to be strong in general for golfing.

great thread. Swimming is great for golf, also hot yoga relaxes the muscles.

As for weights I am sure there are experts here that can advise.

Just do an overall body strengthening workout. Include a lot of balance work like "Setup to Balance" on a 18" plyo box. Power comes from the legs and hips up through your back. Your lats and core have a lot to do with the loading in the back swing of your upper body and then the release. Don't do cable pretend swings just like you wouldn't practice clean and jerks on the range.

    Goblet Squats
    Walking lunges
    RDL
    Bench press
    Seated rows
    OHP
    Lat pulldowns
    some basic arm work
Core work, Medicine ball rotation, planks, Back extensions, Cable rotations...etc

3 times a week. good form...continue to add weight

    do the basic 3 X 10 routine

    Do foam rolling and stretching
"You got soul and everybody knows that its alright".....Curtis Mayfield........"Eat to be strong weights and reps"....Me....."leave the gun take the cannoli".....Fat Clemenza

"Believin is alright just don't believe in the wrong thing"....Sonny Boy Williamson

"You know you're over the hill when your mind makes a promise your body can't fill"......Paul Barrere Little Feat
