Closing restaurants, hiking up prices on others things. Allowing the fast food workers to buy more pot and frolic like imbeciles. But some politician some where is happy. It got him all those extra votes or lobbyists money. Most like lobbyist money when you consider most fast food workers do not vote. But then again I could be wrong

When I was younger in my career I figured out the worst workers were the ones always trying to get people to band together and collectively complain and unionize. In places where they had union based compensation, we'd get a really motivated younger worker who had maturity, hustle and drive and I had to tell him I can't give raised based on performance because the unions already decided everything for him.

I used to work from home 90% of the time, then a mandate came down for everyone to return to the office. I said fook that and got a promotion/100% remote work job in the office that issued the mandate for all the lower level people to return to the office. People are salty af.

There are ways to promote faster through the unions. I got hired on at stage 3 in the carpenters Union & within a year I was acting Supervisor, making $65/hr, but my actual base pay was only $30/hr. If you are a hard worker you can still advance through the unions.

Through promotions that entail a different job roles, yes, that makes sense. But otherwise you are on a schedule and that's it, usually regardless of performance good or bad.
