The backstage talk and dirt sheet stuff is crazy.
Basically Rock gets appointed to the TKO board, then has his own writer (Gewirtz) appointed to creative.
Within a week, you go from Cody pointing at Roman yelling "you, you!" after his Rumble win to him stepping aside for Rock.
Everyone says this call was made above HHH's head. So you've got two years of build for one match, and Rock steps in and rips up the whole thing just to feed his ego.
Half the people say this is paving the way for Gewirtz to replace HHH in the wake of the Vince scandal.
Hope everyone is prepared for Samoans to hold every belt in WWE for the next five years.

Don’t care who faces who, but man is that tough having Cody go out there to bend over and neuter himself, while offering a contradictory explanation void of any weight given everything he’s portrayed.
It’s either lazy writing and going that actual direction, or intentionally leaving doubt to get people talking. If it’s the former, at least have things make sense.
Either way, for years have known Rock is one of the biggest POS narcissistic egoistical bag of dicks, so never underestimate what he is capable of doing for his own benefit. The proof has been in the pudding countless times when you look at how that snake operates his schtick and day to day life. There is no goodwill from him for the sake of goodwill. If he fuking goes out of the way to hold the door for someone walking into a store, you are damn sure to hear about it from him.Last edited by BrickEX; 02-03-2024 at 09:20 PM.

Rocks Hollywood career tailspinned out and he's pretty much an after thought there now.
I don't watch today's wrestling but I'm guessing any son of dusty Rhoads is probably more qualified than the rock when it comes to trying to save that sinking ship or more like raise a ship that has already sank."it takes a wise man to know when he is in error and a noble man to admit to it"

only way this situation is saved is if the rock turns into hollywood rock again and its a triple threat match i guess with cody winning.

Yeah kind of ridiculous. No reason why it can't be Rock vs Roman for a "head of the table" Bloodline family feud that doesn't involve the title.
Rock in Cody's corner for WM, blocks Solo and Jimmy from interfering, helps Cody beat Roman for the title and voila. Not rocket science.
Cody winning the RR is completely undermined by stepping aside for the Rock. Cody actually looked like Rock's biotch. No way is WWE this dumb. There has to be more to this.

Absolutely retarded. Nobody is going to care about Cody a year from now. They biffed it last year and miraculously kept Cody over for another year only to not do it again. Most people think this is a work like Daniel Bryan yes movement. Get everyone behind Cody by thinking they ****ed him and then he will either be in the match ala triple threat or it will just be him and Roman anyways and the Rock doesn't wrestle. I highly doubt the rock can go more than 10 mins at this point.

Retarded?
Cody is more over now than he was when he lost last year to Reigns.
This is what I’m talking about with whiny fans. OH NO! 12 MORE MONTHS!
The GODDAMN ROCK vs Roman Reigns should not pivot because of backlash. Cody/Reigns pivots due to Rock. Fans want to ignore that this match has been anticipated and talked about for years. The Rock is more inherently tied into the Bloodline story than Cody ever was - which bolstered Reign’s run for years now well before Cody came back.
The ultimate goal is to get Cody his win over Reigns. And that will fkn happen. But you’ve got the green light on Rock/Roman at WrestleMania. You do that first, you feed the Rock to Reigns, and Cody has another hurdle added to his story.
But goddamn guys. Think long term.

I have no problem with Rock/Roman; in fact I wanted that match to happen. However if that was going to happen it makes no sense having Cody win the Rumble and then choose not to go after Roman. I can think of a number of better scenarios.
Scenario 1: Rock shows up at Rumble and screw Roman over. Randy wins the title. Rock fights Roman at WM. Cody beats Randy at WM to finish the story. Finishing the story isn't beating Roman anyways, it's winning the title that his father never got to win.
Scenario 2: Roman keeps the title and fights Rock at WM for the title. This might be preferable because Roman's Tribal Chief/Head of the Table gimmick depends on him holding the title. Then have anyone else but Cody win the Rumble. Could be Drew. He wins, challenges Seth, and maybe have Damien cash in mid match and pin Drew to win. Kind of a full circle moment there as Seth loses the title the way he won his first title. Then Roman beats Rock, and Cody can go over Roman at Summerslam or if they want Roman to beat Hogan's reign then next year's WM.
-------------------------------------------------
The problem is, external circumstances forced us into the current situation. Punk got injured, and the plan was him vs Seth for that title. On top of that, in the days before the Rumble, all the Vince/Brock sex scandal stuff came out, which likely rules out Brock for WM. So that's 2 big stars, 2 big draws out of WM. The Brock thing happened before Rumble, and I don't know that they had any big plans for him for WM anyway, but they could have slid him in there in some way in order to make up for the loss of Punk. But Punk got injured during the Rumble after the call to have Cody win was made.
From everything I've read, Rock is stepping in because he feels like he has to, in order to "save" the event. There's no way to take the Rumble win away from Cody at this point, other than a kayfabe injury, but that does no good as Cody is also one of the biggest stars in the company and with the other guys missing they need him on WM.
In kayfabe, Cody's decision to fight Rollins makes no sense (assuming that's what they decide to do). I get they're in a bind and hopefully fans can understand that and give them some leeway, but it doesn't look like that's the case. Rock and his daughter are getting death threats. Rocky definitely seems like a narcissistic douchebag, but there's no need for bullschit like that.
IMO if they're going to stick to this, have Cody fight Seth, have Damien cash in mid match and win the title there. Roman has to go over Rock at WM. Then have Cody win MITB, and pull a Cena and announce his cash-in on Roman ahead of time and make it at Summerslam. Or if they say fukk it at that point Roman will be so close to Hogan's reign they decide to give it to him, have Cody win an Elimination Chamber next year and take the title from Roman at WM 41.
The problem with waiting that long is people are starting to get sick of Roman being such a sparse champion. It would be fine if he only wrestled once a month in title defenses (and IMO that should be the case for all world champs), or maybe give him 1-2 PPVs off a year. Then have him on Smackdown 2-3 times a month in promos or backstage segments. I think people would be a lot less sick of him if they did that. On top of that they could filter in some lesser guys for title matches. Those guys could get the rub from being in a match with Roman, and Roman could get some clean wins off them. I mean IMO he should beat guys like Riddle, Rey Mysterio, Sami Zayn, and Kevin Owens clean anyways. But yeah he should have a couple clean wins filtered in there to maintain credibility and keep people from getting sick of his matches always ending the same way. In years 1 and 2 of the Bloodline story yeah Paul and Usos would help him but he also went out there and took care of business himself sometimes.See Krackerjacked's sig
