The US had already approved up to $2billion/year in military grant assistance to Taiwan for 2023 to 2027, to build them up and deter China from making a move in the first place

didn't read article, but you realize China(just like the US) does drills to simulate war situations? You realize they do this periodically, but still haven't invaded Taiwan?
We do the same thing, drills to simulate a Chinese invasion of Taiwan, and amass forces near China all the time... Doesn't mean we are planning on doing chit right now
