It seems that other than TLOU show, almost all modern horror movies and shows are mediocre at best. There are heaps of horror on Netflix but 90% seriously look like D movie dogchit with a front cover that some student did on photoshop during lunch break.

It did look promising, third times the charm though. They just had to do it like they did in 1899. You know what I'm talking about... Never played the game aswell, but "this" looks forced unfortunately.

Agree. I was hyped for the movie.
But half of it is basically just drama between a kid and a woman. Then there are some decent scenes but they are quite rare. Movie is also anything but brutal.
I also didnt expect such a satirical comedic aspect. You are not supposed to take this movie serious, and there are some huge movie logic things going on so you better just turn off your IQ.
Meh, like has been said, not scary, not atmospheric either. Expected a complete different tone.

Finally watched smile the other night. I’d give it a 6.5. Suspense was pretty good with the anticipation of people smiling lol but I found it pretty predictable.
Watched Poltergeist for the first time in years last night. It really does hold up well against more recent supernatural horror. Good movie.
Finished the first half of the new season of YOU. Not as good as the first 3 so far, but watchable.

Hunter Hunter - simple and brutal, felt more like a European movie, underrated at 6.4 imo - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2226162/ - 8/10
Climax - not sure what to say about this one. Sort of liked it, but hated it more, hard to explain. - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8359848/ 6/10
The Beasts - horror elements, classic slow European burn, just a very good movie, reminded me of Calvaire at times - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt15006566/ 8.5/10

Butterfly Kisses - I'm a big found footage fan, but this one didn't do it for me. Interesting idea, but pretty boring and an unlikable main character. 5/10 https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5792468/

Watched Smile on Prime. Decent movie, better than most of the new crap I've seen.
Also on Prime, I watched Tumbbad. Do yourself a favor and check it out. It sat on my watchlist forever, and I'm glad I finally gave in and watched it.
Indian movie, deals with the greed of a family that try to steal treasure from a demon / god that was cursed for his greed. I don't want to write too much more and spoil anything, but it was excellent, I really enjoyed it. Great story / lore, and the atmosphere in the old mansion and down in the well was on point. Definitely worth checking outPRs: Back Squat- 410x1 / Front Squat- 320x1/ Bench- 325x1 / Deadlift- 505x1

The Last Exorcism https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1320244/ - decent enough if you're a found footage fan, otherwise nothing exceptional. 6/10
Webcast https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5617310/ - one of the better found footage movies, not sure why it's so underrated in imdb. Actually surprised I didn't see this before, as I'm a big found footage fan. 7.5/10

Leaving DC https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2647078/ - actually creepy found footage, made by 1 guy, better that a lot of found footage with larger budgets. 7/10

Just saw Terrifier 2. The gore was so excessive and OTT it was comical. In a similar vain to Peter Jackson's low budget splatter fest "Braindead".
Worth a watch. Nothing special."Honor is something that all men are born with. It cannot be taken from you nor can it be granted. It must only not be lost."
