Is it possible you switched out several addictions for one to the bb.com forums?
Currently trying to pay attention to my calories again... I've been educated guesstimating them for the last 2 years. I tend to eat like a horse to the tune of 3-5k calories a day and since I just switched up jobs, i'm not walking 15,000 steps everyday and it packed right back on QUICK.
Day 1: 1700cals 230lbs AM
Day 2: 2800cals 229lbs AM
Day 3: 3000cals 228lbs AM
Day 4: Haven't eaten yet today, I'm trying to stay under 1500. (224lbs AM)

yea but how's your body comp lookin moore? if i remember right we are both 5'11, you are definitely overweight for the height range unless your solid muscle. im like 25% bodyfat at 194lbs right now, definitely need to gain some more mass and lose some more fat.
what's the science these days? still can't gain muscle and lose fat at the same time? it's either or, right?www.grazethesky.com

and yeah it could be im swapping out one addiction for another but BB.com i decided to use to keep a daily log of my status..
there's obviously a million better other apps or sites i could use to track sobriety, including a sober forum or something but i have a deep place in my heart for LF so decided i'll just stick to this place since i want to get back into lifting seriously againwww.grazethesky.com

@230 it looks like crap, this is @ 210lbs: 190-200lbs would be ideal, I have to stay lean because of the loose skin. The last fat deposits to go for me are love handles, behind the nipple/under pec, and cheeks/chin.
...and I can't really give advice I'm not exactly organic-grass-fed, and I don't know any science, but I notice the best results eating simple carbs with lean protein as my main food. Example; chicken and potatoes 2-5 times a day. Throw in snacks to hit surplus and I just inflate when that clean foundation food is there on a consistent basis.
I grew a tad too, I'm 6 foot even last time I checked, possibly a HAIR more even, I'm going to start shrinking here pretty soon though in my old age, LOL.Last edited by moore93; 05-15-2018 at 06:49 PM.

I might just stick to eating ~2500-3000cals every day and see what kind of recomp-cut I can pull off @225-->215lbs, I just became a wimp or something because that 1500-2000 cal a day stuff ain't so pleasant anymore when I burn anywhere from 3000-3500cals sitting on my ass all day.

5'8" 222 fatty gun did fat checking in.
Should of seen me before I dropped 20lbs a month and a half ago.
i've kept my prot at 140ish and cals at 1500ish and scale hasn't moved in 3 weeks but my pants that I couldn't even wear 4 weeks ago are getting loose.
I assume it's the 300-400 cals in home brew I drink a few nights a week while still staying under 1500.
dat water weight.
have an internal job interview tomorrow.
since everyone in that building wears jeans and polo's or button downs I decided to just go with nice pants, button down and Tie.
A suit would be WAY overkill.
And the people i'm interviewing with know me and have known me for yrs so first impression is already shot. LOL!
kinda weird i'm in a meeting with one of the guys i'm interviewing with a few hrs before the interview.

^ lol thats kinda funny being in a meeting with the guy whos interviewing you but i suppose that's how inter-company interviews go.
anyway, i think my missed my day 11 yesterday probably means im so busy lol not a bad thing at all,.
day 12, no scratch tickets, weed or booze. my head was pounding all night. had another crazy ass fun day at work. hmm, i been hitting the pullup station every morning religiously. maybe i will hit the gym tommororw, we will see.
i also notice if i just eat simple carbs and high protein meats and poultry, my body adapts so well that it just melts the fat away. just having that problem of not shoving garbage down my throat. still, i'd say im in better contrl of that now a days than i ever have been. i definitely noticed a shift in my metabolism in the last 2 years, but i'm putting a stop to that with diet and exercise combined. especially with trying to increase lifting weightswww.grazethesky.com

day 17 sober from scratch tickets, booze and weed. getting a lot accomplished these last two weeks who knows how long i can keep it up.
crushing goals ive set for myself this year as well so thats a plus. ive managed to get a bunch of paying gigs on my own on top of my regular job. this has been eye opening as i'm taking the next step into building my client list. just a fun way to go about things.
besides that, the leaves have all finally popped in our area along with flowers. summer took forever to get here..we really dont have a spring its crazywww.grazethesky.com

Day 19 today, completely sober from alcohol weed and scratch tickets. i was day dreaming about having a couple beers today but decided against it. definitely one of the harder challenges.
just finished the raised bed garden in my backyard today, and did some more cleaning up. it's really shaping up to be quite the feng shui of yards..rock gardens, flowers, fire pit, etc..just making everything really peaceful.
besides that im filled with massive anxiety daily. sucks but what can i do about it. might be my body adjusting to having no chemicals in it, but i still need to eliminate a few more chemicals and that's caffeine, soda, and junk food. i've been pounding the protein lately in the forms of chicken and pork and beef so i'm hanging in there as far is retaining muscle.
anyway, have a good one all.www.grazethesky.com

Holy ****, Moore got jacked!
I was only around for the first few variations of the original thread so only a few familiar faces in here.
I can't even remember what year it was when I first posted in the thread, i'm going with 2012ish..when I was on my crazy fitness journey losing 100LBs over the course of a year or so.
Life hit really hard in 2013 and i'm just now trying to claw my way back. Currently at about 231LBs right now (Was almost 250 again, was 180 in 2012 lol) But have noticed my body is totally different at this weight then it was prior to weight training. I was working in Telecomms for 3 years then one day lost my **** and quit (More to this without getting too personal with medical conditions..) Have been unemployed for over a year and hopefully going back to school to take criminology and become a corrections officer. Also, have an interview on monday to become a volunteer firefighter. So, things are currently looking up.
Been lifting 4x during the week, Mon-Tue-Thur-Fri with accessory work on weekends as well as a hike day in there somewhere. I've already lost almost 10LBs just in the month of May. I feel that I would be happiest with a solid cut but being able to maintain around 200LBs.
Trying to put my new journey out there as much as possible to keep myself accountable, but I fully feel like i'm back...with better overall balance, i'm still enjoying a beer or some ice cream, but weighing and tracking has re-entered my life.
Whew....that felt good!**CAN Army Veteran**

cool man glad to see you back. it's literally been since 2012 I think since i last spoke haha. the whole reason I'm back here is to hold myself accountable as well...
you know theres so many more better technologies out there for doing this, like using an app to track progress, or reddit or what have you, but there's a good little community i grew close to here, and since i know it's been dead for quite some time, i decided maybe we can all sorta rejuvenate and get back on track. we could all use some form of motivation in one way or another.
anyway, i still remmeber you submitting your weights to me weekly during out competitions. i still got the spreadsheet links somewehre and I think you may have ended up coming in top 3 in one of them.
here's to 3 weeks sober today!www.grazethesky.com

Same...thought the appetite suppression would go away but that + cup of coffee = nothing else compares.
I do the one dose in the morning and maybe a second 1 hour after lunch.
Don't feel bad. Used to crush a 6 pack...had a mild hangover this morning from 1.5 beers lol. Hey, it's a lot cheaper and a 6 pack lasts longer
<3 <3
How's the shoulder holding up? What's weight / body fat these days?
What kind of work are you doing? You look amazing at 210 by the way. Every time I think you've posted a pic at the best I have seen you, you post another.
Dat feel when you never GHD because it looks hard even when not getting over being sick lol.
Bulking, cutting, maintaining?

Have been thinking a lot about how I really need to get into cardio...but, I also hate it because it's boring af and hiking (some of the only cardio I enjoy) is not always feasible. So, I finally decided to try jiu jitsu like I've been talking about for years.
Pretty sure I have never sweated so much in my life! Surprisingly, I was able to keep up with the class and ended up rolling with the other students around 2 classes in. It was awesome and I really enjoy the social aspect of it. Turns out I'm a natural and pick up the drills / technique quickly. Decided that I'm going to invest in more classes and bought a Gi.
#whitebeltrepresenta
I've also been missing that itch of being competitive in a sport, so I might be tempted to do a local comp one of these days.
Need to sort out my programming now. Was thinking about a 5/3/1 hybrid but I'm still not happy with my current bodyfat level and 5/3/1 without maintenance or lean bulk calories seems like a waste.
Tempted to start a journal and document how I sort it out. Eating ~2000 calories for now (should be ~20% deficit).

yeah my weight hasn't budged all month (222ish) but my 40's are getting baggy on me.
They were snug late april.
can fit into 38's but kind of tight.
think i'll try to stay under 2k/day and just keep lifting and yardio and enjoying my few beers.
if I drop, I drop.
was going to start biking this week but my tires were flat from sitting all yr and my tire pump is missing the piece that clamps on the valve stem.
I blame kids. lol.

mmkay. that makes sense. lol.
day 23 today no booze, weed or scratch tickets. i'm getting serious cravings for all 3. need to redirect that energy. this upcoming tuesday i am officially quitting caffeine in all forms (soda/coffee) and all junk food (anything sugary) for health reasons.
saw a video on visceral fat and im determing to get super lean, no doubt going to be a bastard of a time but my mental state is the best it's ever been right now for this kinda stuff.
onward!www.grazethesky.com

Hahaha oh ya, I have a 5x5 app on my phone for my workouts, weights, and weigh ins.
I do remember going in those 3 month weight competitions, i was so dialed in back then...i'm slowly getting there now, i'm just not as strict with my food or AS active as I was previously.
Congrats on being sober!**CAN Army Veteran**

I fixed my car.
finally.
Upper intake plenum was shot. it sat in my dads garage for a month cause I didn't have time to fix it.
but so much chit got in the cylinders it wasn't starting so my dad decided to use some starting fluid.
It made for a really nice fire in the engine compartment when it backfired.
but he got it out before I found the fire extinguisher in the "corner"
His garage had an extension smaller than the main garage so the corner he was referring to was in the middle of the garage.
In a box NOT marked fire extinguishers.
But hey we at least knew it was getting spark.

So Chrome and bb.com on my PC are not cooperating all of a sudden.
BB.com changed something with cookies and chrome doesn't want to allow it to update and I can't be f'd to fiddle around with the privacy settings.
using midori browser now.
edit: had to clear all my cookies then it gave me the pop-up for new terms.
