Are you sober today? If so and hopefully, don’t let “one day” ruin what you already have, unless you “ want” to, after all sobriety is foreign to a professional addict, your choice, why make a problem worse, you already traveled the road, if you enjoyed it by all means continue, its dark and filled with an array of absolute misery, if not, pick yourself up, talk to someone who “understands” and start over, let it go, it obviously didn’t get better or you wouldn’t have said anything, your choice.........it can always get worse, or better. And if you feel like crap now, imagine if you were in jail, or the hospital? And there is always the morgue,!

I drink once every 6weeks, and regret it every time . Just seems to taste good at the time lol , especially in the middle of summer .
I try to think of it for what it really is, poisen . Your basically ingesting poisen when you drink ,and when I think of it that way, it helps me avoid it.
It certainly kills my workouts too, as my strength is down 40% the next dayMake Misc great again

This.
Have to figure out what the environmental factors are that will encourage you to drink and avoid letting them align into place. When I stopped smoking I had to start walking more, avoid my morning coffee and all of the other things I did to set up my perfect smoking environment. It helped.
Regardless of all that, having 1 drink or 2 ever so often as long as you can be responsible won't hurt you in the long run, although long run should mean 1 -2 every few months/years if drinking has been an issue.Ndtha ton eda yi'mg oIng tofi

If its any consolation today marks my 100th sober day.
Well, not in a row, lets not go crazy."To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

i want to thank all of you for your messages.....i am doing better and sober. i didnt let the slip turn into a relapse but things are still in a precarious place. ironically, i started working out to feel better myself and the frustration w lack of gains makes me beat up on myself which then makes me want to act out....
thank you all

Try to use your "frustration with lack of gains" to motivate you to train better. This forum is a resource of experienced lifters who are sharing training programs, nutrition advice, and support for your fitness journey.
I'm speaking as someone who understands that "act out" desire. But if i act out now it's going to a fine restaurant with my wife and using that as a basis to try even harder in the gym. Don't be so hard on yourself in ways that lead to self destructive behaviour - channel your dissatisfaction better.
