I am so mad that they already raised 4k for their stupidity.

hahahahahaha
"Powerlifters shout at bodybuilders because bodybuilding produces mountains of muscle tissue with no functional purpose. Strongman competitors look down on powerlifters because there's more to strength than a one-rep max in three lifts performed with a minuscule range of motion. Olympic lifters, if you can find them, get to feel smug because every 4 years, you can turn on the TV at 3 AM and see them compete for gold. And everyone hates on CrossFit."

Disgusted at the criticism of these people who weren't afraid to get out there and live life. No doubt many of you are dissatisfied with your wage slavery and mocking their "failure" because failure is what you're afraid of, and why you settle for the life you have. It turns out they were not prepared, but at least they tried. We've all faced set backs in life. Sometimes we've had to ask for help to get back on our feet when it turned out we weren't ready, but that didn't mean we were failures. We are only failures when we stop trying.

I walk the line all the time. Last week I humbly unloaded a barbell on the safeties, got it up and loaded with 10lbs less to get my reps. But I have been squatting heavy for years and years, 5 years of competition, 5 trophies in my basement gym. The difference between me and them is I have a chance of succeeding, I've properly prepared myself, it's a calculated risk.
They haven't properly prepared for sailing. They haven't done the actual work, hell they don't even work. Dreams are fine, but these 2 are just a burden on society.Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

Would you say they were trying tho? I can understand being prepared and failing anyway, but to plan to travel the world on $90, no preparation and no insurance is like they set themselves up to fail. What if this had happened at sea, and not in sight of land.
They tried to skip the "chasing your dream" part and skipping straight to the spoils.
Some people who drive an amazing car have worked hard to deserve something they want in life, but a lot of people driving cars like that are in debt up to their ears because they wanted the trappings of success without the hard work.
It should be telling that their first response in the face of their own mistakes is to ask strangers to pay for it.Smooth Seas don't make Strong Sailors. Keep your head up.

In the old days, those people would just be...dead.
