The news reports that I have seen are like a vision from hell!
Lord! You feel for those poor folk. The firefighters as well. I cannot imagine. The neighbor's house just across the alley from the school parking lot burned down yesterday morning. That was horrible enough to watch. Tens of thousands of acres up in flames, a racing inferno, is just overwhelming.

It blew my mind when I heard some areas were going up at a rate of 1 acre per second. It seems like an impossible task for the fire fighters.

These wildfires are still devouring thousands upon thousands of acres. It is horrifying. I saw news reports this morning of one monstrous blaze only 40 percent contained. They have reached the coast. Some will continue to burn until after the new year. It is a nightmare.
The firefighters are incredible. I can't imagine the impossible situations that they work in daily, a Dante's inferno, and they go back day after day.
