Hello everyone!
I read Arnold's encyclopedia, and he gives here a rule, to do 10 minutes of static stretches (which I can see right after this page)
My question is, if some people here say we should make dynamic stretches before workout, why does Arnold recommend dynamic stretches?
* I'm here to learn, I know there are similar posts, but this is a bit different one.
Thank you![]()

Because Arnold wrote that at a time where he wasn't aware that static stretches reduce the performance of a workout. Its been proven that dynamic stretches can help aid your workout.

I have heard good things about the book as well. You dont have to follow everything someone writes, its just a resource, combine it with the other knowledge you already have. Arnold was the greatest bodybuilder of all time but training has changed since then. But the core principles he writes about hasn't.

Here is just one study showing that. There are actually loads of studies out there which have found it reduces power output. But people are starting to say that if you dynamic stretching after static it doesn't reduce power output. In the 80s there were a few studies done which said that static stretching reduces power output, which is why most bodybuilders favor dynamic stretching.Healthcare Crew
