This will be my forever rack and I had the money sitting in my account for a long time....

It's this line of thought that gets big $$$ spent around here. You are more disciplined than I am as this sentence gets me out of Rogue and into the highest end spectrum real fast.

My 1000th post too...I guess that made my decision to go no holds bared when I get my forever rack.

To give you guys the straight run-down on what's up with the CPR1 rack.

1) This rack was designed by us with our specs. The factory that makes it for us does all of our steel (benches, racks, etc...). Our QC inspector checks every shipment and communicates with me and the factory boss daily. I also talk to him often. We're a huge percentage of their business, so it's by no means a giant factory spewing out tons of product where we're a small potato. I can specify whatever I want and make changes to anything, which we've done many times as we've improved products (like the FID that's had probably 6-7 revisions in the last few years). I'm over there a couple times a year checking up on things.

2) When our inspector checks these racks, he sends me a report with measurements and pictures. He checks things based on a long list of items we want to ensure are good. They fully assemble 2% of every rack order to make sure everything fits properly and no major machining errors exist across every part.

3) This is a long-term project in that we've had to wait for them to get their tooling up to speed to deliver the kind of product we want. The robot welding has been up and running for 6 months or so now. The huge tube laser-cutter was set up 2 months ago. The robot welding is also used for many of our other products now, including the adjustable benches. The consistency we've seen with those welds is excellent.

4) The numbered uprights were changed from every hole to every other hole simply for speed of manufacturing and because I personally don't think it reduces functionality at all. It was crushing the laser machine to do every hole, so we decided every other hole would work fine. Same machine did our prototypes (the one in the showroom is our final one before we signed off on production).

Hope this helps clarify what we're doing with these racks and how they are produced.

Will definitely be considering this vs. Rogue RML-390BT. Awesome Rack. The only thing I'm worried about is shipping.

I originally planned on having Mech6 build me a rack back in April 2015, but I had school and life get in the way so we held the project. When I went back to start it up again Mech6 stopped building racks so yea I've been patiently sitting on this until Black Friday. I feel Rogue is entry level high end I guess you could say. I'm still adding a ton of Mech6 stuff to the rack though.

Went ahead and ordered the rogue post landmine with it on sale for $45 i couldnt pass it up any longer and got the close grip parallel handles with it. Hoping later this week they will have a similar deal going on the matador!

It seems like Rogue has their Five Ships for $5 deal going on starting today. Seems to apply to everything I've checked on their site including racks, benches, etc.

Why's Rogue's Hundo pricing only available on items which already had Hundo pricing prior to BF and you can't even form complete sets with that stuff.

I'll be disappointed if this is it.

Just a note on Rae Crowther as I started asking questions yesterday:

The Pro Gold power rack is being sold as a new 2017 model currently. It is not reflected on the website. The website has been undergoing a total makeover for months and still isn't ready, it's probably not wise to assume any of it is current.

Hans let me know that the changes to the rack have allowed them to save a little bit of cost. I don't have my quote yet, so I don't know if that savings is passed along to us or not. They haven't increased the price on the rack in a long time, so it may not be.

I've only had a quick call with him so far. Here's what I can remember off-hand:
1. The bar catch rollers are now coated with plastic by default. Good news for bar knurling.
2. The rack is only sold in a sumo base configuration. Bad news for tall lifters as the non-sumo rack was taller. Doesn't affect me.
3. The rear uprights no longer have drilled holes. I think I'm getting that right. For certain, the weight storage pegs are now fixed (not adjustable). There are 6 pegs to a side, and the bottom 3 will be bumper-capable in spacing.
4. RC now sells globe attachments for pull-ups. Don't have specifics on size, or if other attachments are available. The indexing chin bar is still available.
5. The bar catches are now able to go on all 4 sides of the uprights. He said they can go in either direction too, but I couldn't wrap my mind around this on the call and I didn't want to keep him at the end of his work day. Will need to see pictures probably. He also said the bar catches are now the only thing that use the outside tear drop holes as well. Probably makes setting up safeties easier on the brain.
6. I asked about the black friday sale last year and if they'd be doing anything for this year. He said yes, that he'd take care of me. Going to have to follow up on that, but you should definitely call in any orders because I wouldn't be surprised if they won't post anything on their faltering website.
7. He mentioned they have a lot of new items that are not shown on their website. This was not in the context of power racks specifically, so I'm really curious!

I'm expecting a preliminary quote today or tomorrow, and pictures to take longer than that to get to me. I forgot to ask about their holiday hours, so I'm prepared for the final order to not go in until a week or so from now.
