The first two weeks were an absolute hell. I thought I was going to die. But, I didn't approach keto gradually, I jumped right into it. So, that was my fault.
HOWEVER, I am just fine now, and back up on my training. I play rugby, and I noticed that I heal up MUCH faster now. Interesting. I have three problems though:
1. I haven't been tracking my calories, but I make sure I barely have carbs in anything and the protein is moderately low (this is hard because I LOVE MEAT, especially beef).
2. Spinach is a life saver for helping to fill me up. But I think my digestive system went into high gear and I get hungry again within a few hours.
3. I'm hungry ALL the time now; usually, after a meal, I am incredibly satisfied and very happy. lol
QUESTION: I just had mexican style chicharron for the first time....... OH MY GOD... God why did you put this delicious, delectable stuff on the Earth. I ordered one pound, went home, next thing I know, the whole bag was gone. Are they ok on a keto diet? Because I just fell in love with those things. I'm gonna go get another pound tomorrow... holy ****.

Perfect for Keto
Greater Deity, sorry for the late reply, saw your post and wanted to shed some insight into your question.
Chicharron works for Keto but you need to be careful. Pork Rinds contain a lot of protein and having too much can kick you out of Ketosis. Below is the nutritional information for Chicharrons.
Total Fat 9 g 13%
Saturated fat 3.2 g 16%
Polyunsaturated fat 1 g
Monounsaturated fat 4.2 g
Cholesterol 27 mg 9%
Sodium 515 mg 21%
Potassium 36 mg 1%
Total Carbohydrate 0 g 0%
Dietary fiber 0 g 0%
Sugar 0 g
Protein 17 g 34%
Vitamin A 0% Vitamin C 0%
Calcium 0% Iron 1%
Vitamin D 0% Vitamin B-6 0%
Vitamin B-12 3% Magnesium 0%
As a general rule of thumb, the first thing I check is the Total NET carbohydrates. 0 is awesome and completely inline with the Keto philosophy. 9g of fat is great because your aiming to eat healthy fats however 17g of protein is high. If you were to eat the entire bag it might push you out of ketosis. Also this product is made with gelatin which looks to be great for you on some sites I've been reading. I've yet to seen a scientific report corroborating these claims but plenty of blogs claim gelatin is great for you and you should increase your intake if possible.
Be careful of flavored pork rinds as the flavoring is what will make the rinds "unfriendly" to keto.
Hope this helps and enjoy those rinds!
