He should get a longer sentence, but in minimum security prison. I think it's very likely he would not have done this if he was not completely drunk, and his punishment needs to reflect the severity of his crime while at the same time not destroying his life for something he did not intend to do.

I don't know what it would be called, but I also think the girl should not be allowed to consume alcohol for 6 months and given alcohol counseling. If she didn't drink herself to unconsciousness this situation could have been avoided as well.
