Any Heroes of the Storm players?

I know it's not that popular compared to LoL or Dota2, but I'm enjoying it. Does anyone play? It sucks playing with randos who don't do objectives or just stand there soaking DMG and get their arse kicked.

I much prefer it over Lol/Dota. Partly because they've streamlined a lot of the mechanics and partly because I've been playing Blizzard games since I was a kid.

Getting your MMR up is the best way to avoid playing with potatoes (if you don't have anyone decent to queue with). Can use hotslogs.com to track it.

There are a lot of potatoes in quick match that's for sure. It seems that the average HOTS player is an idiot. It feels like every single match I play, I'm forced to constantly tell people to actually move to an object or do anything other than sit in lane and farm. People think it's League where you sit in lane for 30 minutes farming creep, rather than actually completing a god damn objective, it's beyond frustrating.

Also another thing that frustrates me is the queue times. Sitting in a 10 minute QM queue is kinda ridiculous(and yes I'm playing non-free week heroes).

Other than those two things, I actually love the game and have spent a decent amount of money on it so far.

^Like others have said, climbing out of the **** tier MMR helps in QM. The games become bearable more times than not. Only time I got 10 minute queues was when I played Xul on release, but they're usually less than a minute or two for me. I try to play specialist/support, though.

But yeah, the game is really fun. I like not having to worry about gold and ****. Just do work and win. Also, that most games last ~20-30minutes isn't bad either instead of the 40+ with League. My only gripe at this point is the long reconnect feature.

That is one thing that I feel that LOL and DOTA2 are missing.

I just started playing and I find it much more enjoyable than other mobas. League (I haven't tried dota) is the same thing again and again, the objectives make the game way more fun imo because they change things up. The fights are also what are fun, which this game is all about. Soaking and pushing lanes is still critical, but you spend less time on one thing which is awesome. I also enjoy the shorter game times. No need to spend 40 minutes in one game, 20 minutes on average is much more reasonable.

I played it since it's beta, but recently I've been playing Paragon much more.

Heroes is fun though - they do have some unique mechanics I like.

Once you push a lane close enough to their core you get catapults with your creep waves. There are also some specialists like Azmodan who can buff creep waves through abilities and talents.

i enjoyed it, easy to pick up and learn the basics, unlike League where you need to know all the terms, all the items, all the champs etc its not really newbie friendly.

But Ive uninstalled it, something about HOTS after playing League is really annoying me.

Yeah, I just get bored when my hero cant really improve much via items. I wish there was a way that you could spend money to improve the units. Not just super basic 'endurance aura' items, etc.

There aren't any items in HoTS.

Stopped playing Dota2 for HotS. Love the game as someone who grew up playing Blizzard games since Lost Vikings.

Tassadar / Zeratul masterrace. Gotta stop being lazy and master a new hero though, bought Butcher a while back and never played with him lol

Ay I'll add all brahs in here. I stopped playing Dota 2 for HotS. I don't rage in this game like I did in Dota2. Recently hit level 30 and hero league is so much better. Just grind it out, buy a stimpak.

Game is super fun but honestly lacks any kind of depth or real progression(rank 1 is a grind lets be real any moron can get to that rank if they play enough) ive played it since beta release and honestly only thing that keeps me interested is collecting master skins and buying new characthers lol

Yeah its not as in depth in comparison to Dota/LoL. I can agree with the ranks as well. Its a long long process to move up in mmr in dota. I guess I just gave up trying to be 'pro' in those games and would rather play more matches in a 1-2 hr window. Plus I like Blizzard so the characters are fun to use for me. Much more interesting if you have a team as well.

Agreed, there needs to be some kind of progression system like Overwatch has. But it is fun because of all the Iconic Heroes and how much quicker games go. Like 20-25 instead of 35-50

I have 3500 hours in Dota 2 & i enoyed HOTS for about a week with no progression just felt so empty to keep playing...does not help I am a bit burned out of MOBAs until Paragon or Battleborn is released.

Thrall is my favorite so far, I also really like Rehgar as support. It kinda sucks you literally have no burst dmg and really can't take down a person one on one, but the healing and keep your teammates up is satisfying.

Who else is a good healer, but has better offensive capabilities?

I'm constantly changing it up when I play QM to keep things fresh and fun, but yeah it's good to have a go-to for each role in HL.
