A tale of two cities: Paris France vs Garland, TX

These two events are telling yet don't seem to get compared even though there were a bunch of similarities.

Cliffs: Armed people do better against other armed people, be they cops or not.

Two armed men in Paris France with AKs and body armor walk around totally unopposed and killed 12. French gun control, as with all gun control, fails to prevent it.

The French police who arrived?

"...the first two Paris police officers to arrive on the scene "were apparently unarmed," which caused them to flee "after seeing gunmen armed with automatic weapons and possibly a grenade launcher." A subsequent report by Britain's Independent newspaper said that "three policemen arrived on bikes but had to leave because [the attackers] were armed."

All the poor French cops could do who arrived was die often begging for their life. Gunman killed 12 people without breaking a sweat. And from another report:

"The fact that the Paris officers were unarmed was not lost on the rest of the city's police department. On Jan. 19, reported that French police had been demanding not only more firearms but more powerful firearms, a call that was no doubt reissued vigorously as images of helpless Paris police cowering before the armed militants in the moments before they were murdered circulated around the Internet."

Watching that on vid made me so angry I wanted to scream at the TV. The response by the French was very little, and that lead to something FAR worse a short time later, but I digress. Just sickening. On to Garland TX:

Two guys in body armor and with AKs show up to do the same thing in response to a cartoon show to give the middle finger to terrorist chit heads everywhere, I mean show Free Speech is alive and well., and they are immediately engaged by a single TX cop with a handgun. End of chit heads. Good guy 2, chit heads 0. inb4 "handguns don't work against AKs" nonsense. But the reason the TX event got so little attention compared to say France and now Brussles is, there was no slaughter of people! Hence, chit heads put in bags, life goes on, and no weeks and weeks of media attention.

For those who missed or forgot (easy to do as it was only 2 chit heads killed vs scores of unarmed cops and people cowering in corners waiting for help...) take a little time to read the story then ask yourself if police (duh) and or civilians (you can bet your arse there was plenty of armed civilians in that TX event who would have kept the death toll down compared to France) can make a difference when it really matters. If someone can show me where any of these terrorists were hindered in anyway from getting all the guns (and explosives in other events) they needed to carry out there attacks, please do so. If not, don't make an idiot of yourselves by claiming gun control measures work against such events and police and civilians better of having zero ability to engage said chit heads.

RIP French police who did what little they could and those killed in that event and attacks that followed and (sadly) will follow until people smarten the f%$ up, be they government or non.
