Today it felt horrible. Just trying to wrap my thumb around the pain from the tenderness was kicking in before I even set the grip.
It's on the under side of the bench. Plus this bench will get replaced eventually it was a cheap $150 flat one and I'll need to upgrade to an adjustable soon as the cheap Marcy one I have for inclines is nearing capacity.

I might do some assistance work with the hook to help it along. But won't be heavy repping with it. (Ouch).
Figured maybe for my heavy sets do reps with straps and last rep hook grip. Not sure if I wanna use tape. Probably not
I gotta definetly keep going. I tried the 560 sumo with the hook and it wasn't ready for that weight. So I switched to mixed grip. Made sure I was locked out and all. Hour later my bicep injury felt ughhhh. No reason to switch hands so I can pop that one eventually.

If your hook grip doesn't fail, then there is no reason why you shouldn't use straps for 95% of all your deadlifting.
I've never found it to be one of those things that gets more comfortable the more I do it.

I thought it would have been the opposite for the starting out phase. Damn.
Oh well. Got til April til build it up.
It's partially pussybitch. Partly adapting to the pain/building up some calesus. Definetly don't have issues with straps though.

The new outlaw knee wrap colors look pretty cool. Did someone mention they're not really good wraps?

Hypothetical, moral question for you guys.
You have a friend that has signed up for and is planning on competing in a USAPL meet in Feb. Probably won't be setting any records but he's no slouch either.
The problem is that you know, for a fact, this guy cannot pass a drug test
How would you react to something like that?
Personally, I think this is the lowest of the low but I'm not sure how I would handle it.Training log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=165829701

I wouldn't have him as a friend for one. That is low.
I have no issues with what people do with their bodies but being deceitful like that is bull****.
I would be cutting ties with him personally. And don't get it twisted. I have NO problems with folks like Leeman cause he knows what he does and he's honest.Last edited by JRMoore82; 01-27-2016 at 11:18 AM.

I would tell him I didn't agree with it. And if it's to place higher I'd bust his balls a bit, tell him to man up. If it's a location thing maybe I'd offer to help find or take him to/be handler at a USPA meet somewhere. In any case I'd feel a little bit dirty if I didn't at least make my feelings known about it.

I'm kind of in this boat. I would tell them its risky and thats it not really fair and that I wouldn't do it. I would also recommend that they don't compete in that fed. I wouldn't compete against this person in a tested fed, but I wouldn't disown them as a friend.
I could be biased though. In the meets I've competed in (RPS) and at my local gym (LA Fitness), there is a significant number of people who would fail a drug test. So, in a way I'm a little desensitized to it. Its almost like its expected, that is, Someone is going to do it.Most of my lifting gets posted to Instagram - https://instagram.com/fayerjw/

I'd tell the guy to quit being a b!tch and compete where he belongs. If he doesn't listen I'd get in touch with the meet director and tell him to have a drug test ready.
It matters because he'd be competing against people who aren't cheating. Maybe you don't care if you win or lose but some people do. It's a competitive sport.

This is the way I'm leaning honestly. My only issue is that it doesn't effect me at all. I would get drug tested if I walked in the door of a USAPL meet so its no competition for me. Its just a really chitty thing to do and ruins the meet for the other competitors that are playing the game fairly.
There are plenty of meets in this area. We live 2 hours from DC and PhillyTraining log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=165829701

After seeing a hard workout you may want to complain and want others to pity you for the work you have to do. Your mom will pity you. Your girl will pity you. I may pity you, but your competition will not pity you. They will step on you, walk over you and spit on you. Boris Sheiko

Very stretchy, very thick and spongey. They don't lock up on the way down, and don't cut depth. Decent pop. Super comfortable and easy to wrap and tuck/tie off. I cranked them down as tight as I could by myself and was able to go to full depth just with bodyweight.
I don't think they'd be very durable under heavy usage if you crank the hell out of them, they scrunch up and deform after wrapping.
Personally I didnt like them, so i sold mine to a training partner who's just starting out in wraps and he loves them.
For what it's worth, the best wraps out there right now are coming from Pioneer Fitness/general leathercraft who also manufactures for APT. The durability and quality of the wraps are just excellent. Matt hadden is awesome to deal with, everything is USA materials/made, and they can make you custom wraps/belts. Im breaking in a pair of their new phantom wraps right now and they seem promising.
(other than the PBG deathrow, which is the strongest wrap ive seen on the market, but are basically unobtainium and are a bitch to wrap properly)Last edited by 308smk; 01-27-2016 at 12:59 PM.
