Made three characters so far in Talisman the first character was a Contagion trapper, which was an absolute disaster because Contagion's damage is terrible. I ended up deleting that character. My second character was a Blade Vortex crit scion, the damage was good but I could tell it had its limits when I started mapping, too much time in melee range and not enough defenses. Now, I'm on my third character which is going to be a Voltaxic tornado shot/lightning arrow, currently level 63 and crushing everything with a Storm Cloud. The leech changes are amazing I rarely go oom and my heath stays topped off constantly. Overall, I feel like my bow character is the strongest of the three and is the one I'm going to bring into end-game.

Level 68 cyclone mara on hardcore talisman
Nearly ripped on merciless piety last night, but I had no business fighting her with 24 lightning resist and 50 cold resist.
However, I found my first unique strongbox yesterday in merciless docks. It was the strange barrel, got a binos and a greeds embrace out of it. Easy 4ex.

Using dual curse blasphemy on blade vortex seems needed, I've only heard that first pack of thorns you're dead.
Yes stormcloud/voltaxic is an awesome build. I did one last league with lightning arrow + static electricity jewels.
77 in hc, no real close calls but I'll die to reflect as EA Im sure. Just gonna get as much gear as I can for next build

You know Binos is legit for crit cyclone right? Which is the high-end cyclone build once you are 85+...
Though I myself prefer the consistency of Resolute Technique... I see some duelist cyclone guys with tooltip DPS of 100k+ running Binos and some other axe and Im like... damn. Please read this: http://www.jimwendler.com/2011/09/time-to-man-up/

My new passion, using 4 low ilvl talismans and 1 ilvl 70+ to scale the mobs up to 70 to PK players in normal and cruel on HC. Fun fun.

Nice... Im running 2h sword with resolute right now myself since I was able to pick up 2 doomsowers for cheap. Implicit (accuracy) is wasted, but I can still map 70+ so Im ok.
My goal is to eventually (110+ points) try a crit build. I feel like with 5 frenzy, 5 power, double accu rings, additional accuracy keys, etc., it is going to be much more DPS than resolute technique.
One thing that makes RT so good for cyclone is that cyclone only rolls crit once. So unless you stay in place, if you click across the screen you can end up with 1 long non-crit cyclone. Whereas with RT its pretty much always the same deeps every time. Please read this: http://www.jimwendler.com/2011/09/time-to-man-up/

I've actually been looking into going crit cyclone as mara, it's bit more tanky than starting duelist but the trade off is a bit less dmg. But since I'm in hardcore, I'd rather be more tanky with 70k+ dps than less tanky with 110k+ dps
This is the build I'd use with binos/soultaker combo:

A lot of these use phase acro, but I don't like the 50% less armor while having abyssus equipped, even with a lightning coil on while playing hardcore. I might also ditch 4 scion health nodes to pick up vaal pact and I might have to roll with a flask or two that gives physical life leech on it or use life leech as the 6th link.
Or I might just stay on the mara side and just stack crit/multi and weapon elemental damage with 2h axes. (build below)

I wonder how good the celestial judgement/punishment and elementalist nodes would be for an elemental cyclone/crit buildLast edited by FearThisjake; 12-17-2015 at 08:35 AM.

I mean the game has changed but it's not new about what to do when you finish the acts. U have always gone to cruel. Just like any other arpg Diablo does it too. Once u finish act 4 there should have been a portal to go to cruel and redo all the acts at higher difficulty. Then once you finish cruel act 1 to 4 Ull get a portal to go to merciless which is even harder.
