Season 5 was dog chit...D&D have murdered countless characters and plot points on this show already. Let's be reality...A made up character "Olly" was in every single episode of season 5...but how many other characters have been completely left out? I can't see what else they can butcher in season 6.

a coworker who hasn't read the books came up with this idea that jon is targaryen and when they burn jon's body, maybe melisandre and the onion knight will do it, he'll magically reincarnate again or some chit.

He definitely just read that theory online, the only way people were able to figure out the R+L=J theory was using Ned's fever dream, which we for some reason don't get in the show. And making the leap that Melisande will resurrect Jon is hardly that difficult given we have already seen the red god bring people back to life (Beric Dondarrion) and heard that "only death can pay for life" and "there is power in kings blood" within 24 hours of Jons death 2 people with kings blood die (Selyse and Shireen).
But we'll have to see, it's very quickly become obvious D&D are incapable of maintaining the quality of the show without the source material to follow, so they could just make Jons death/resurrection meaningless.

what i meant was interesting was the fire idea. never thought of that. i don't think she can just utter the words like thoros. they'll probably throw jon on fire when they burn him and something will happen.
the R+L=J theory was easy to figure out from the tv series alone. i figured it out myself. except the rhaegar part i wasn't too sure about. it was obvious from the first episode.Last edited by 2RDEYE; 11-23-2015 at 11:09 PM.

You wouldn't of figured it out if you hadn't read it or heard people talking about it, if you claim otherwise you're a liar. Ned flat out says Wylla was Jons mother and there is no hints based on appearance, in the books Jon is visually different to all his other siblings except Arya who is said to look like Lyanna. There are no big hints from Ned's fever dream, there is no "promise me Ned" and the only real mention of Rhaegar is in passing that he kidnapped and killed her.
The extra information in the books is what lends credence to the theory, we learn that Lyanna and Rhaegar were in love, we learn that Rheagar brought/kidnapped her to the tower of joy where they spent time together, we learn that Lyanna dies in a "bed of blood" aka a birthing bed and that she makes Ned promise her something (to say Jon is his own to save him from Roberts wrath). Post Lyanna's death Ned travels to Starfall to return Arthur Daynes sword, while there he for some reason meets a wetnurse called Wylla (why would Ned meet a wetnurse if not for a baby). Edric Dayne also states that he and Jon Snow are milk brothers (they were both fed by Wylla).
Yet you're telling me that with none of this information you were able to figure out that Jon snow is the Targaryen bastard of Lyanna and Rhaegar... Wow misc we've just found a legit psychic, neat.
And I don't know what you mean from the "fire idea" Targaryen's are not immune to fire (something else saved Danereys, either the magic of Mirri maz durr or the magic of the dragons)

I suggest you watch a little closer. I destroyed your logic in the last thread.
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...post1260756211
This is all information I pieced together as a non-book reader. Most of it before I had even heard of the R+L=J theory. I eventually had my friend who is a book reader confirm it was just a theory before bringing it into the thread and then being forced to defend myself for supposedly posting spoilers. Looking back on it now after another re-watch of the series + season 5 there's a bit I missed but the hints are all over.|| MFC || C7 Crew || Trance & Techno Crew ||

Ok I'll address your points then, just be warned you're about to get into an e-argument with someone who spends a lot of time researching back story on fictional universes.
Jon Snow's parents are unknown. The only people who know are Ned, Jojen, and Howland Reed. Two of them are dead.
Ned never calls Jon, "son."
Rob confirms he loved Lyanna, Ned's sister. This leads you to believe he would be pretty possessive of her and jealous of her being with other men.
Ned refuses to talk about his "affair." Maybe because he never had one. Remember this quote, "And you never will" in response to Rob asking about her.
Ned tells Jon he will tell him who his mother is next time they meet. Why the wait? Maybe because Ned knows, and if our theory is right that makes Jon the heir to the throne and he doesn't want to start a war with Rob.
Next tells Jon, "You may not share my name, but you share my blood." Why didn't he instead say, "..., but you are my son" ??
Rhaegar apparently "kidnapped" Lyanna. Making rape (or a secret love affair) possible.
We know Lyanna died during the rebellion. (likely due to childbirth? We know it's possible because of Tyrion)
We know Lyanna made Ned promise something. (to protect her child?)
We know Ned is arguably the most honorable man in the realm. It's not illogical to think he would care for her child even if it meant disgracing himself. Afterall, the Stark's repeatedly say, "Family comes first."
If our theory is true that makes Lyanna's child a Targaryen and an enemy of the throne. Rob would have gone apechit and had this child killed immediately. Ned wants to protect his nephew.
Sorry but it looks blatantly obvious that you had prior knowledge of this theory to watching the show, half the info you put forward isn't even present in the show... I'm by no means denying R+L=J, as I mentioned above it's very obvious (maybe even to obvious?) in the books. I am however denying anyone being able to pick up on it from the show alone, the info just isn't there.

GRRM stated that Targaryens are not immune to fire so I wouldn't expect any miracles like that. What happened to dany was a miracle. And he may be a Targaryen, but he won't be on the side of the fire.
There has to be a balance between fire and ice. I foresee the white walkers being not that bad after all, just as the fire side is not that good either. The wall is build of ice. Who other than the walkers would have build a wall of ice? If someone else built it, then why build a wall of ice against them? The white walkers are just defending their lands.
