A free education would increase the current supply of liberal arts degree enthusiasts who do nothing but bish about every conceivable imagined "oppression" and campaign for ridiculous causes they can't fully articulate.
Unfortunately, in the real world, not everyone is designed for thinking jobs. Free education for everyone fails at two levels:
1-Many people aren't fit for higher learning.
2-Many of the subjects out there these days aren't higher learning and are simply chitscience bolstered by skewed statistics and heavy assumption making.
We need people to build the country, put out fires, fix utilities, serve food, etc. a lot more than we need genderqueer advocate feminist huffpo op/ed writer number 2,167,890.

People, like all these Bernie Sanders fanbois, actually think the government is a good thing that alway acts in their best interests. They don't see that any socialist system will always benefit the government (the ones distributing wealth) more than the people (the ones receiving a small subset of that wealth). It's understandable why lazy people want this though.

Woah that hurts to watch...but you can't turn away.
I can't believe she's even serious. I wish he would have asked her how she would feel if in the future students would be entitled to a free college education, but all current student debts stand. Meaning, she has to pay her loan in full but the classes after her will have a free ride. Do you think she would be on board for that? I'd say she probably would NOT be on board for that.
These days 250K is not even "rich." I'm not at 250K yet but when I do get there I sure as hell won't want to be paying 90% of it towards taxes. Did she even take a math class? You get to keep 25K of that 250K....?!?Might as well just work the $15 minimum wage she is suggesting and make over 30K.Parkour and very advanced calisthenics. =)

What do you mean "how to pay for it"?
There are plenty of ways to pay for it.
1) We spend 20%, or $620 billion, of the entire federal budget on defense. That is paying for all the military bases we don't need to be inhabiting in fking Bosnia and other random ass countries in the world. Nobody else does this anywhere in the world.
2) We spent almost $15 billion on military assistance to the middle east last year.
3) We spent over $20 billion dollars on foreign aid last year.
That's JUST some of the list I can come up with right now.
So let me ask you this question: What the fuk do you mean "how do we pay for this?" How about balance the budget accordingly and there will be enough money going around to help everyone. You retards are assuming the gross negligence of the federal budget right now can't be changed or something. Are you potatoes even thinking?*United States Space Force Vet*

what are you going to do with all those umemployed people when the military has to discharge them? what are you going to do about all the local economies that depend on the military bases and the people in them? there's a bigger picture to defense spending than "just cut it". never mind the global implications of such an act. your post is incredibly shortsighted at best.

Get a degree, educate them and spark innovation.
Is it too hard to understand that an educated society = a better society? University exposes people to all kinds of technology, concepts and sparks creativity. Consequently, innovation creates jobs. That's what you do. Being in the military should not be a career for many, just for the few.*United States Space Force Vet*

That's the thing, 250k is not rich or wealthy. If you're married with 2-3 kids, a Mortgage, 2 cars, health insurance, car insurance, ect. 250k isn't not a lot of money. For a single person it's a pretty good living, buy you're not living like Leonardo DiCaprio off that.

2 years at community college with a 4.0 ==> scholarships ==> cheapest in-state university ==> profit
Maybe a lot of kids who get fuked over with debt have parents like mine, who didn't attend college themselves, so they don't know the best route for their kids. I wish my parents attended college and they made me go the CC route first. Instead they knew nothing and I knew nothing, so I ended up going to an expensive as **** out-of-state university just because I thought it would be cooler.*Has to wear a diaper when squatting crew*

That's what I was implying to the man stating he has no sympathy for the "1%". That's the problem with the media. They make an hellacious claim like "1% of the population controls 90% of the wealth" but there is no substance to it. People act like its no big deal but it creates an environment where we end up with people like the girl in the video that sound like they are just reading off the headlines of a news website. No one cares about actually researching anything anymore. I don't even care that her demands are ridiculous and unattainable. I'm bothered by the fact that she didn't even bother researching her stance. Its not like they just pulled her off the street and said do an interview. She had some time to prepare

The way student loans are treated needs to be changed. I have a good job and never took out a loan (wrestling scholarship+job to cover the rest). I have no credit whatsoever and you cant imagine the amount of hoops I had to jump through to take a loan out to by a house. Yet they will let any 18 year old kid borrow tens of thousands of dollars for "school". My sister in law was aloud to borrow 60k at 19 to become a teacher. That is ridiculous!!!!! Why is it I have to go through a few years of obstacles to by a house but anyone can take a student loan out? Maybe for my house loan I should have said it was for school to save time.....

not everybody is suited for college. somebody has to do the vocational jobs and somebody has to clean the bathrooms. you think somebody is going to spend 4 + years in school to clean toilets? furthermore what do you think the schools will start doing to tuitions and fees once they find out that it's all paid for? of course it could go the way other gov't funded things like Medicare go and some schools might stop accepting it all together because they won't pay enough.
more gov't is not the solution. it's the problem.

Nobody ever said everyone is suited for college. That's why there are alternative choices. But if someone is interested in college, by all means they should go and the government has more than enough resources to help potential students out.
Military bases all over the world is not necessary, at all. Giving billions to foreign aid is not necessary at all. Giving billions to the middle east is not necessary at all. Starting wars in the middle east and currently fighting proxy warfare was/is not necessary at all (necessary to fill the pockets of the elite like Blackwater and Enron...for them, it was necessary).
I have listed only things off the top of my head that are part of other ridiculous expenditures. The federal budget allocation is a disaster and a total joke and if we were more fiscally conservative, we would have more than enough money to pay for students to go to college, military veterans getting the healthcare they deserve and funding NASA with the money it also deserves.*United States Space Force Vet*

Man
Even worse was when he suggested the 100%. ALL of it and then he was crunching numbers with her and told her how 100% would only cover "x" amount she was like "Well yeah I mean that's a starting point." LMFAO. So lets take ALL their money as a starting point and then we can figure the rest out afterwards.
He should have asked her who would be supporting the top 1% when all of their employees quit their jobs to go back to school? For "free."Parkour and very advanced calisthenics. =)
