So is coffee a diuretic? I have heard that recently the fda has reversed its classification from a diuretic to no longer being considered one. I have yet to find anything significantly confirming on either end at the FDA's website. So can you guys help me out, what is the official consideration?

Haha I mean I would consider it to def help regulate that flow for me but my question is looking more at the fluid effects not as much the #2 effects lol

So the issue with caffeine is that it's only a diuretic under specific conditions, namely: bolus dose, and not being used regularly.

Conclusion: Caffeine exerted a minor diuretic effect which was negated by exercise. Concerns regarding unwanted fluid loss associated with caffeine consumption are unwarranted particularly when ingestion precedes exercise.

I think it changes with your caffeine resistance and current state. If you drink coffee on an empty stomach, the influence on your body will be stronger than drinking it after a meal.

Not necessarily. The caffeine content isn't responsible for intestinal peristalsis AKA having to pass stool. The working theory last I checked was a chemical compound found in coffee in addition to the warmth of the liquid. Coincidentally, I've experienced that unpleasant feeling drinking hot tea or hot chocolate.

Read my post again grasshopper, I said coffee, not caffeine specifically.
