Hi guys. I've been doing SL 5x5 on a +500 calorie surplus diet since february. I'm almost done now and I managed to get a lot stronger and build some muscles but because I wasn't strict enough on my diet these past 3 weeks, I've packed some fat too. Now, I wanted to move to something like Madcow in order to continue my strength progression but I feel uncomfortable bulking at this BF% (between 25 and 30%). I want to cut back to 12-15%.
I would like to have your opinion on what kind of workout I should be doing in order to dampen the strength loss as much as possible while cutting. I thought about keeping doing SL and stall the weight at like 90% of 5RM and add 4x45min long duration cardio while on a calorie deficit. Or is stalling weight not a good idea? Should I change the volume repartition?
Here are my stats and lifts:
27 years old, 5'3" male
Squat: 265 lbs
Bench Press: 180 lbs
Deadlift: 285 lbs (still progressing)
Overhead Press: 125 lbs
Barbell Row: 160 lbs
Thanks for the help
