Starting lifting again after quitting years ago.
Eating exactly 2,953 calories a day. Started at a SKINNY 145 lbs @ 6'3" on 12/10/14. It is now 1/3/15 and I'm already at 153 lbs. So that's pretty much 10 lbs in a month (w/o creatine water retention).
Should I drop maybe 150-200 calories off? I don't want to dig myself into a hole.

You're 6'3 at a whopping 150lbs. Stay the course for another month at 3k cals, I guarantee you didn't gain as much as you think... a 10lb gain is 2.5 lbs a week which is 1250 cals surplus which would but your TDEE at 1750 cals... obviously this isn't your TDEE.
