Cari had a decent night. The decrease was because she quit the crunches to jump on the treadmill. The chair we normally use for the seated military presses broke last week on my first set, so we've been using a different chair and it shows with my presses. Less back support and I can't lift as much. I had to drop the weights down. Oh well, core gets more work...A good friend once told me... "It's not the age, it's the mileage!" Pretty scary for me, considering the mileage I'd racked up with my lifestyle, until I realized I could overhaul my engine!

I skipped a couple weeks posting this, but we're on week 6 of our 7 week "who can lose the most bodyfat percentage by March 1st" thing. Here's what some of my stats have looked like so far.
(my inches lost are in my bodyspace) and i'm super happy to have lost pounds and inches
Week 1 = 10554 cal / 275g fat / 677g carbs / 1128g pro / 4 wo / 3 cardio
Week 2 = 12146 cal / 409g fat / 1046g carbs / 981g pro / 4 wo / 3 cardio
Week 3 = 12377 cal / 446g fat / 939g carbs / 1032g pro / 4 wo / 4 cardio
Week 4 = 8695 cal / 282g fat / 607g carbs / 1013g pro / 4 wo / 4 cardio
Week 5 = 9828 cal / 313g fat / 726g carbs / 913g pro / 4 wo / 2 cardio
Week 1 lost 2.4lbs and 3.87% bf cals were 1508/1316 (daily/net avg)
Week 2 gain 0.4lbs and 0.15% bf cals were 1658/1417
Week 3 lost 1.6lbs and 0% bf cals were 1691/1436
Week 4 lost 3.4lbs and 1.19% bf cals were 1242/952
Week 5 lost 0.4lbs and 1.52% bf cals were 1404/1134
So anyway, he's got me so far by over 1%. We'll just see-ee.

Thanks for saying this y'all. It helps remind me that I'm doing something, moving forward, etc. I kind of hit that rut feeling like nothing was happening and obviously I just wasn't putting perspective on it. At first, the week I lost too much, which did cause me to lose 1/2 lb of LBM (opposite my goal) at least per calculations made me ashamed. But it was good, too, in teaching me more about my "numbers" and self. As you know all our analyzing (and fear, lol) can get in the way sometimes.
The most obvious thing is how the amount of carbs each week played into the outcome. Apparently, I shouldn't eat more than 100g a day if I'm trying to lose fat. (at least at this stage in my journey) Well, shoot! I've already done that (have about 800) and there's 2 days left in this week's count. LOL
Even though I felt like I was eating this same way before the 7 week challenge, it's been great to really calculate and study my stats. To be around 28.8% BF rather than 35 (remember the crying that no guy on here would touch with a 10' pole? heehee) when we began, I can't complain!
woohoo! for real! 35 down to 28 in 5.5 weeks so far
p.s. i did get some extra motivation to keep it up from seeing a pic around new year's that i thought i was looking good in, omg! (god bless my husband!)

Thanks man. Appreciate it!
I've only modified them slightly so far to see how my body was going to take it. Especially doing more reps prior to hitting my working weights. So far so good. I'll keep adding more until I'm at that interim stage I was talking about. Thanks again, I really appreciate it.
I'd have more of a lead if she didn't FORCE me to cheat last Friday AND Saturday night! LOLA good friend once told me... "It's not the age, it's the mileage!" Pretty scary for me, considering the mileage I'd racked up with my lifestyle, until I realized I could overhaul my engine!

Hey Penney, hang in there. I've been reading your journal even though I haven't posted into the existing conversation. You're doing good and getting good advice. I'm more than willing to tell you some things I've learned about the differences between me and Cari in regards to loosing fat, but don't want to butt in. Just let me know.
Thanks! FTR, I had her bb curl weight wrong. I updated it.

My son sent this to me and there's absolutely no reason for me to post this in our journal other than I think it's really cool. Starts off slow, but worth hangin in there for.

Wow, you guys so squats and deads in the same workout? I do squats on leg day and deads on back day. Too heavy a load for both on one day for me.
