    What did you try?

Remember meditation = breathing+ brainwaves+ intent. And so much more.

Meditation is a tool. What do you want to achieve or how do you want to use it.

Brah it can take months to see results from meditation. It's a life-long investment.

Would you recommend guided meditation for beginners? Or is it easy to learn on your own just by focusing on your breath by being aware of your inhales and exhales?

I would recommend a guided meditation without music or any of that brainwave crap. So basically a soothing voice guiding you would be the key.

I think the best meditation is done in isolation or in nature. Remember electronics put off emfs. So yea hinaural beats might make you feel a lil different, but nothing could come as close as sitting on a beach listening and absorbing the rhythmic waves or being in pure isolation eyes closed and just breathing and letting the mind unfold. This is what a lot of monks do their whole life.

Whenever I meditate I always "think" of my breathing.. Like I replicate the noise in my head lmao

Is this normal or am I not to the point of complete silence?
PIPPIN: I didn't think it would end this way.
GANDALF: End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass, and then you see it.
    PIPPIN: What? Gandalf? See what?
GANDALF: White shores, and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise.
PIPPIN: Well, that isn't so bad.
    GANDALF: No. No, it isn't.

Sounds pretty normal to me man, everyone has their own technique that works for them. If I meditate long enough my head feels like it swells up like a balloon and it's almost as if my nose becomes insanely small, it's really weird. Everyone has their own thing when they meditate I think lol

Absolutely been awful at mediating, slipped off. Going to dry to do 15 min everyday when I wake up. You can't mediate after a night of drinking though, really is detrimental.

I've been meditating everyday for about a month now. It really changes the way you react to stressful stimulus, and makes you a whole lot comfortable and calm all the way round. It kind of takes you out of your animal brain, and allows you to "observe" your life, if you know what I mean.

I just read an article in Scientific American, and it basically states that meditating alters the structure of your brain. The parts of your brain responsible for stress reactions are seen as non-reactive, and the grey matter in those parts of the brain actually lose volume, while the parts of your brain responsible for mindfulness become larger. It also showed that telomeres are more active in experienced mediators, which could have implications in cell regeneration and aging.

Does anyone buy into the concept of never leaving your place of meditation?

I think I get it, but can only stay in a deeply serene state of mind if I have a reasonably non stressful day....

If it's a busy day at work, I'll still be less stressed if I meditated in the morning, but there's no way I can stay in that state all day.

Yeah that's called void meditation. You basically focus on the task at hand and don't worry about what if's or anything outside. It takes some practice because the mind has a mind of it's own. But like anything in life, the more you do it the better....

Looking for some help in body relaxation. It's my forehead. For some reason, no matter how much I try to relax my face muscles, my forehead gets tingly and my brows furrow by themselves and it gets very uncomfortable. The brows tense up even more and stay like that for a good few hours until I forget about trying to relax my face. Any insight as to why this happens?

If anyone's looking for an intro to meditation, I recommend headspace.com. Some good guided meditations to get you started there.

Are you overstressed or have overactive nerves? Do you use stims? Maybe look into diet and activities or anything that could be causing the tension.

Yea, I think I'm always overstressed. I'm pretty much a worry wort (sp). The thing is, it happens even when I have an extremely clean diet, and no, I don't use stims. I guess its just overactive nerves. Very annoying when I'm trying to relax and my forehead/eyebrows refuse to cooperate.

Anyone have any advice for avoiding yawning while meditating? It's like it's stuck in my head subconsciously now and I really struggle to stop yawning throughout whenever I'm doing it.

Another reason I like guided meditations. Can't count how many times I'll be drifting off when suddenly the guy on the recording calls me out on it.

Don't do it when you are tired. Don't do it in the dark. Always keep your eyes upward or looking upward while eyes are close. Many people make the mistakes by looking down and that is telling your brain to go to sleep.
