Happening to me as well with my brand new retina macbook pro (OSX Mavericks) using Google Chrome. I can only assume it is one of the Ads that opens up.
    Using OSX 10.9.3 (Latest)
Using Google Chrome Version 35.0.1916.153 (Latest)

    - Does not happen on my Windows 8.1 Machine with Chrome
    - Does not happen on my Windows 7 Machine with Chrome
    - I am a computer engineer and this is a new computer, no viruses on any of my computers.

I also got this and actually thought I needed a Java update. It's a really bad idea to go ahead and download the new "java update". Had to restore computer to an earlier restore point to make it all go away.

My Norton Antivirus probably saved my laptop.

Some of the programs can be pretty deeply seated, only come up on certain sites, etc.

Then they are derp IT people. This is a known issue with out of date forum software. I bet 100% this only happens with people going directly to the forum instead of the main page, unless the main page is also ran by forum software. From what ive heard you guys are running a highly modified/custom setup which means I bet its hard to upgrade/update. It could also be a module that is the source of the security hole.

You probably know better than I would, I'm basically the middle man for code and server stuff. I'd recommend reporting a problem and explaining in detail what you've done/know.

I dont have the issue myself and ive been long out of the forum software game so im not 100% up to date anymore. But I would be interested to know if those affected have issues on any other websites (I doubt it) and if it only happens when clicking on the forum or use a bookmark that goes to the forum.

It doesn't even have to occur on other websites though, some malware will only pop up on certain sites (especially large or popular sites you visit frequently).

Yea, I only get it on BB.com. I didn't see any of the listed malware when scanning programs either. At least I know better than to click on the link when it pops up.

This happens from a compromised ad in the advertisements. That code is usually injected into your site so your IT people will most likely not find anything on "your" end.

I started using the google chrome extension "ad block" and it has ended the redirect problem for me. The redirect must be coming from one of the ads, as was suggested above.

Yeah I have just been loading to the main site first to avoid it but I would think that bb.com would want to find and fix the issue since it is redirecting people to update their java and actually installing malware.

For me it's happening on both IE and Chrome on a daily basis. And only for bb.com. This redirect thing is getting old. It kills any desire to post in the forum. You should fix the problem instead of giving half-a.ss instructions on how to tweak browsers/comps on the user end. Right now bb.com is in the unsafe part of internet for me.

It's like coming to the store and telling the management that their window is busted. Only to get a caring advice to get your eyes checked out and get glasses.
