Graduated EMT school. Now time to take my national. Already enrolled in Fire College for August.
I have the possibility of getting hired as an EMT this summer. Just waiting for my school to confirm that I passed(which I did). Can't sign up for national until that is done.

Took my national registry today. Was 113 questions. Not sure about it. Score should be posted tomorrow morning since I didn't get anything today. Just hoping for the best.

I passed the written! Now I just need to pass the practical on Monday and I'll be done. This last year has been an absolute ass kicker. And my daughter was just born this morning so the timing really couldn't be any better!

Had a fire last night. One story frame, peer and beam house. 1 room starting to go into the hall way. We were second in engine and I helped pull hose and pulled ceiling.
Just love getting some smoke and fire on my gear.
Riding the ambulance next shift where I did my internship at. It will just me and one other medic now. Time for the real thing.Leo/Military Supporter. Bustin my ass to save yours!!!!!!

What's going on guys. I finished my Basic course this past fall and I took a couple months to study before my practical and nremt exam.
Practical is June 10th so I'm busting my ass studying all of the scenarios I can think of. Anyone with experience have tips on doing well on the practicals?!You'll never gain mass if you're chasing ass but you'll always get ass if you’re gaining mass.

I'm a career firefighter, volunteered as a medic for a little while before I got hired. Wildland firefighting doesn't do it for me at all. Not my cup of tea. My first due is roughly 80% residential and 20% commercial and I definitely like it that way.
The scenarios are pretty straight forward, there won't be any curve balls. Know the skills sheets well and know the critical failures even better. If you can avoid those, you'll be totally fine.
My advice is to cast a wide net. These jobs are competitive in most of the country, it doesn't make sense to only apply to one place. It's a numbers game, eventually something will land. You know the saying, " throw enough sht at the wall, something's bound to stick".

Question brah's...do any of yall's agencies have "force shifts"?
Looks like I'll be getting forced again tomorrow for the second time this month. So I will go in a 7a tomorrow and instead of getting off at 7p I will be forced to work the 7p-7a night shift and my regular 7a-7p day shift Sunday. This is also a very busy agency where I will potentially run 35-40 calls in that stretch with little, meaning 30 minutes here and there, to no sleep. Really starting to get old, not to mention downright dangerous.

Any EMT-I's in this tread have some questions?
Also anyone know of anyone that has taken Paramedic via online classes?
I know I wouldn't suggest to anyone to take the class online. Just realizing the situation I am in. If I want to do my medic anytime soon I am going to have to view that as an option.R.I.P. Hela
