we should still be looking at defensive backs in the draft but I feel a lot better after this offseason. We definitely have the ability to draft BPA now, but I think Emery is a little smarter than that and is doing a lot of analyzation with the front office on what would for best for the team and what would work well in the long run.

They have some flexibility now which is nice. I can see them going CB/S, but I wouldn't be shocked at a DT either.

DB is a must this draft. I've watched WAY to many missed tackles in the secondary last season. Chris Conte.....I'm looking at you my friend.....

Brandon Marshall isn't sweating his long-term future with the Chicago Bears.

Heading into the final year of his contract, the veteran wide receiver hasn't heard a peep from a front office that just handed a four-year deal to Jared Allen packed with $15.5 million in guarantees.

"But if it comes down to next year, I'll be picketing outside of Halas Hall for a new deal, a new contract, because I'm not going anyplace."

At 30, Marshall -- set to make $9.1 million this season -- acknowledged he's "not looking for anything" like the "$16 million, $15 million a year" handed to Larry Fitzgerald and Calvin Johnson, but promised "that stuff is going to take care of itself" after what he puts on paper in 2014.

It was Marshall who told the "Around The League Podcast" that he struggled through a "down year" last season. That sounds ludicrous after hauling in 100 catches for 1,295 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns, but Marshall told us, "I'm really going to revamp my whole game and come back a totally different player, something you guys never seen before."

Comparing himself to an artist prepped to drop an album that changes the landscape of pop culture, Marshall insisted that 2014 would be his "Thriller."

His creeping age will prevent Fitzgerald-level scratch, but putting out an on-field masterpiece will get Marshall paid his due.

2nd the j allen signing was crucial for the d line he brings leadership, energy, and talent to the organization
3rd i feel like every year the bears have some sort of hole in the seconday at fs or ss

the bears need to seek out a tackling machine. one who has solid technique and believes in himself to take down any threat he comes across

Marshall is legit, especially with those comments.

I still would love Donald or Jernigan with our pick, but getting a DB would be legit too. Im glad Shea is moving back to LB. Dude was a joke at DE. Didnt even want to draft his azz, but hopefully he makes a bigger impact at LB now.

I think Shea will be a solid role player this year. Hopefully they use him in a variety of ways (lots of blitzes, stunts, 3rd down pass rushing specialist)
