You can talk people out of the bar/club a lot easier than you can force them, and if you force them don't do it by yourself unless necessary. (You don't know who their boys are and setting yourself up to get blind sided.)
My advice for you OP, before you go off into the night.
Bounced for a couple years,
Good luck friend.USMC

...as with most 2nd/3rd tier US cities, this all depends on the location of the place he's a bouncer at.
And in other locations, it doesn't matter how tall you are when you have people ganging on you. you seem awfully obsessed with the kids height. its his weight he will have more of a problem with.5.0 crew

he was at the club and some guy farted so my mate and others laughed. He got butthurt and told my mate to say it again and basically started the fight. My mate said he was clearly on something since he got pissed off so quickly and looked for trouble but whatever. Once the guy farted everyone stood back so there was an empty circle around the guy and two guys stood there so my mate said again to the guy 'smelt it dealt it'.
then the guy spat on my mates face, phlegm spit, not your typical spit. So my mate spat back on him (I told him he should have just punched him from there) and then the guys mate who was on the side/behind him sucker punched him and my mate got dazed.
Then that's when the bouncers intervened and dropped him to the ground holding him while the others guys just got some free punches in.I always tell the truth...even when I lie.

What a dumbass...
"Powerlifters shout at bodybuilders because bodybuilding produces mountains of muscle tissue with no functional purpose. Strongman competitors look down on powerlifters because there's more to strength than a one-rep max in three lifts performed with a minuscule range of motion. Olympic lifters, if you can find them, get to feel smug because every 4 years, you can turn on the TV at 3 AM and see them compete for gold. And everyone hates on CrossFit."

My dad used to work in the security sector for quite some time. He always told me that the best thing is to keep your cool when the situation starts to heat up and never go into physical contact unless the guy comes at you. He said that you can solve most of the situations by simply telling the guy that what he's about to do won't go well for him either way. Psychological strength is just as important as the physical strength in this job.
Stay safe.

Is OP going to be nice until it's time to not be nice. Is he going to have two vehicles, one a Mercedes he hides in a barn and another beater car? He probably will carry around his medical records to "save time". Oh and if OP meets a guy named Brad Wesley, don't mess with his friend because he f**ks guys like OP in prison.

1)Expect the unexpected always
2) Never Let your guard down
3) Be nice
Bro in all honesty around 3 years ago I was chilling at the bar with a few of my boys having some drinks, About a hour into chilling these 2 big ass dudes (Around 6-3 260-280lbs) came into the bar and these 2 dudes looked around the bar for about 30 seconds and then reached into their pockets and pulled out mouth pieces, Put them into their mouths, Hit fist with each other and literally mopped the floor with like 9 guys. They obviously knew the other dudes were there and it was planned but I have never seen 2 guys take on so many people and literally beat the ****ing dog snot out of everyone including a few of the bouncers there. Never underestimate anyone! My Gym is my Church, My Sweat is my Prayers, My Strength is my Salvation, I Am Animal.

Worked as a bouncer in Sac in late 80s early 90s. I worked a club on Stockton called the Craven club which was owned by Vietnamese and saw some shady ****znit go down there. Used to walk the owner out at closing with a shotgun locked and loaded in plain sight. Little bastard would take the bars earnings with him every night. So many fights outside on the walkway it would look like a murder scene by closing. There was a murder there after I left.
I worked the pihrrana room on Arden too for a while, it was mainly an alternative club with hot new wave girls and douche bag guys.
I've worked clubs in Alaska and have seen some horrible things, I had a young 21 year old drummer that was playing with a local band get stabbed in the throat and die on the bars doorstep by a urban youth. Was heart wrenching cause he was a great kid, his dad would always come in and stand by me to watch his kid play. I've had guns and knives pulled on me, I've been swung at with brass knuckles, bottles thrown at me, my truck totaled in the parking lot by a pissed off drunk sloot. On the positive side, I've had more tail than you can shake a stick at. I've had feature stripper come to my bar with a limo come up and grab my cawk and tell me she has 2 tickets to Hawaii and a condo for us and leave the bar right then and fly off to Hawaii. The stories I could tell...

Are bouncers trained to make up reasons to not let people in? I was accused of flashing my military ID at said bar in the past in order to avoid getting kicked out, telling them to back off I'm in the military.
Which is funny because I'm not in the military, don't have an ID, and would never lie about it.
I was ultra sober so you can imagine I was supremely pissed about this made up BS. Luckily I knew the manager but, why the f would they do that in the first place?
