Not here yet (South Jersey) but I know my fam (North Jersey) was telling me that they were getting a ton of snow on Thursday. I think I'm supposed to get some tonight.

surgery went well...they had to cut out a part of my medial meniscus and a part of my hamstring to make a new ACL....please excuse the bad spelling as I am drugged up to the ying yang with vicodens

rant: I hate sleeping on my back with my leg lifted up. The only way i can sleep is when I am drugged up. Anyone know if sleeping pills and pain pills equal disaster or good mix for fun

I will be having reconstructive surgery to fix my completely torn ACL/Lateral and Medial Meniscus. I partially tore my ACL a year ago in intramural flag football and then completely tore the rest of the goods during mens softball a few months ago. I will be having surgery this monday the 17th in my hometown. I just figured I would mentioned it to everyone. If you have any similar stories, advice, or good words, I would greatly appreciate it as this is my first surgery since I was like 5 (tonsils).

I will not be able to hit the gym for several weeks and NO LEG training (besides rehab) for 2-3 months

Also keep this thread going because after surgery I will be bored and need some things to make me

Bro I feel for you I had full recon on my ACL Dec 12th last year (used Ham tendon). I wrote a blog on rehabbing it. If you ever have any questions feel free to ask. Good luck wish ya the best. ciao

Hey make sure you do the extender machine every day for at least 2, 5 hour shifts. (I used to try for 3 shifts) Don't push the range of motion as much as just keep frequency up. After that as soon as you can start doing calf raises very light obviously. I would hold onto the door frame and put all my weight on the good leg. It brings back your calf and hammy. Be sure your doing something to spark the muscles constantly even it's only pointing your toes or extending your heel while you watch TV in the leg extender. It will be sooo much better for your rehab.

thanks for all the help bro...yeah i had the same thing they used my hamstring to build a new ACL and cut out part of my medial meniscus that was not able to be repaired

You can eat? I wasn't hungry for a couple days. I drank a ton though. Water tea etc. Heck I didn't even take a dump for about 3 days. Most pain full crawl of my life. How's the pain going? I wanted to die day 2 and 3 but felt a ton better by day 4. Day 1 I had so many drugs in me I was walking around (on crutches) thinking I'm the man that wasn't so bad. ;o))))))))))))))

it was weird about 2 hours after surgery i was starving and had full meals...i been eating a ton since I am at my parents house....the pain is killing me the first day was good the second was alilttle worse and today is hurts bad...i have alot of drugs in me though. I have not been able to **** either yet haha.

random thought: when i can get back to the gym I was going to start with high rep low weight to get back in the swing of things...then i wanted to try the 5X5 training method..can anyone tell me some tweaks that helped you in this training method
