Anybody who places Oscar Robertson and LeBron over Kobe isn't wise to the game. Get over stats and realize a bonafide champion son. A leader. Kobe Bryant has taken his team to the NBA Finals seven times. How many players have done that or more? Russell, West, Kareem, Magic, Kobe. The best are going to find a way to get to that highest level of play and bust their ass off to win. I've seen Kobe put his soul in the game and to discredit him a place in the top 5 let alone top 10 is pure ignorance.

mild lerbon nuthugger checking in.
this post is truth.
his flaw is that he believed he could do it all himself, and if there's and "flaw" a competitive basketball player should have it's this. try say that kobe does not have the same skill, work ethic, raw talent, motivation and perseverance as magic/bird and keep a straight face. truly one of the legends of the game, top 5 player when it's all said and done. the greatest player to wear purple and gold. thankfully it's only on this board where his fans give him a bad rep. tons of classy kobe fans elsewhere.

He's top 10 and that's based on cumulative resume not raw skill or athleticism or dominance. It's the length of his "prime". At his peak there are a good 10-15 players that are better than him by a good deal.

oh thank you for allowing it lol.
real talk, the Heat are going to 3peat with ease before facing any real threat to their reign. this season will be steamroll city and next season the momentum will carry over. so 15 months from this post, lebron is going to have 3 rings, 3 finals MVPs, 4 regular season MVPs (at least), with 23,000 pts, 6k rebs, 6k assists at age 29.
and he will be top 3 of all time right then and there with Jordan and Kareem.
in 6 years the difference between him and Jordan will be the same as the difference between Yahweh and Allah.

lol @ this angry *******. your tears are delicious.
Magic's the greatest Laker of all time. To this day when people think Lakers, they think Showtime. They think Magic Johnson and the Godfather of South Beach.
Sorry Kobe, if only you were better in the first 3 peat, you could've matched Magic's playoff excellence and have a trio of finals MVPs instead of the most poverty 2 of all time. If only you were actually the clear cut best player in the world for more than a season or 2. you might have more than 1 MVP.
5 = 5
3 > 2
3 > 1
Magic wins. u mad?

If Duncan or Lebron was ever the second best player on their team.... we are talking 5-6 titles apiece minimum. Get this out of your head "oh 7 titles appearances and 5 titles". Once again, he's a great player/scorer, but in terms of game changing abilities, a DOMINANT, DYNAMIC player someone who can handle the ball like Lebron or a great defensive player like Duncan or Hakeem and Wilt... in addition to being great scorers and team leader, the WHOLE package, hell I'll even throw a guy like CP3 or Kidd and Nash in there. You've seen how they've made bad teams into contenders. Kobe can't do that, he's ONLY A SCORER. We saw it in 2005-2007 and we saw it this year. Yeah, he's putting up all of these crazy numbers 35ppg, 8+ games with 40 or 50 or whatever, so WHAT? his team was average and even missed the playoffs one year. we saw it again this year too. Kobe is so lucky to have an injury like this. he's off the hook for this season, i guess. but then again, this year only confirmed what we all already knew. great scorer, not a very good player maker, not as good as lebron, or duncan or prime hakeem or nash or kidd or even cp3. you guys remember how revelant the clippers were b4 cp3? honestly, the clippers would get better if they had kobe, no doubt (he's a great player), but i dont see him changing them completely and making them contenders. you guys dont play basketball at ALL. scoring isnt everything. you guys dont give a **** about defense

not really. ask the world who do they think of when you say the los angeles lakers. most will say kobe bryant, some will say shaq and some (females, no racist) will say michael jordan. only 40 year old americans will think magic johnson. srs. he's more synonymous with HIV than he is with the lakers globally.

"Bryant told Jackson that O'Neal's presence on the team would affect his decision to stay with the Lakers, adding, "I'm tired of being a sidekick," Jackson wrote.
Bryant has said he had no role in Jackson or O'Neal's departure from the team. Jackson retired, and O'Neal was traded to the Miami Heat.
Jackson said he had run-ins with O'Neal as well but that coaching him was "an experience I will cherish forever."
Jackson wrote he became so frustrated with Bryant that he told general manager Mitch Kupchak in January, "I won't coach this team next year if he is still here. He won't listen to anyone. I've had it with this kid."
It was not the first time Jackson requested the team trade Bryant. He sought to trade him to the Phoenix Suns for Jason Kidd and Shawn Marion in the 1999-00 season. But then-general manager Jerry West told Jackson that owner Jerry Buss would never trade the Laker star, he wrote in his diary. Jackson said he was told the same thing last season."
