Constant colds at least twice a month

i cant get into a proper gym routine as after every full week of the gym i end up with a cold and miss 3 days the following week at the gym.
i think i must have a weak immune system and the gym must lower it even more making me get a cold.
started taking multi vitamins and cod liver oil daily but still seem to get the colds.
i have been using alpha men multi vitamins from my protein .com.
just wondered if anyone in a similar situation that had found a supplement that stops the colds like a good multi vitamin ?
also is glutamine a good supplement to take for immune system or is it just for recovery after workouts ?
    thanks

Glutamine is not for recovery after workouts. High doses of glutamine and Vitamin C may be helpful for your colds, but this is not proven. The research on immune system function is mixed. The dose recommended by Mr. McDonald for this purpose is two to three grams of glutamine with 500mg of Vitamin C taken multiple times throughout the day. The other dose I've seen him recommend is "'take some glutamine and vitamin C every time I walk past the kitchen." Haha good luck and I hope you feel better.

Check the store and decide for yourself: http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/ca...IENT_GLUTAMINE
The bb.com brand is likely the best bargain.

It could definitely add to the problem. Multi-vitamins are there to supplement your diet/micronutrient intake, not be the complete foundation of it.

I would definitely add more micronutrient dense foods into your diet.

I've found fruit and vegetables keep me away from colds and rather oddly I don't know but zinc seems to stop me from getting ill, if I go off it I seem to get sore throats, colds quick.

Do you constantly drink from the water fountain at the gym? That's a watering hole for other people's germs/bacteria, especially in the winter. Ever since I completely stopped drinking from water fountains I haven't gotten sick in a very long time

at my gym the water fountain has a part to drink from and another part to fill bottles up with i never use the fountain but always fill my bottle up with the other part so shouldnt catch any germs unless people are putting their mouths round the bottle part lol

Could you be more specific about this "cold". What symptoms do you have?

Could be more allergy related if its simple nasal congestion/sinus related(as most people try to refer as a cold).
