Literally just played Deathmatch with the in-game multiplayer browser on gamepass PC. Ho-lee-fuk nostalgia.

Quake 1 has a new expansion, runs absolutely flawlessly out of the box (gamepass pc), and gamebrowser works and is pretty active. Gamepass - the gift that keeps on giving (inb4 haters)

Why do people still think gamepass = xbox only
I am looking forward to the ground up rebuild. These releases might get some non-fans interested for the remaster, not a bad strategy.
M$ owns Bethesda. It's only natural they are releasing the entire library where I'm pretty sure the games are not available anywhere else. Not sure there's that big of a nich for OG quake that there's really an argument for a money grab here but ok lol

I will be downloading this for the nostalgia. I remember getting this game for my 15th birthday in 1997. I played Quake II whilst it was fairly fresh as well.
I checked out the achievements; seems that completing everything on hardest difficulty will net you the bulk of it with the rest being 'find secret exit' or 'kill X in such a way'. I am an achievement boi BTW. I will go for the achievement unless it is overly grindy or too hard to be fun."Honor is something that all men are born with. It cannot be taken from you nor can it be granted. It must only not be lost."

Never played quake, is this good?
-Some people say good things come to those who wait, truth is, good things come to those who work..... who work later.....who work harder...... who are willing to go further than anyone else to get them. If you're waiting for good things to come to you, you'll be waiting for a pretty long time.

No, it's a PC game. It was on Nintendo 64 but that's an inferior version.
The first 3 games are classic PC games and are still fun to play. The first two games have completely different storylines to each other but both are great. The third game is a mix of the first two with a multiplayer focus.
Quake 4 is pretty good but a bit more of a generic shooter. There's also a new multiplayer-oriented game, Quake Champions, but I haven't played that one.
My personal favourite of the series is Quake 1. That game has such a great atmosphere.
