Could use you guy's help. So every early new year, I create like a "top seven - ten" or so fitness and fat loss myth buster/tips 1 page doc to send to coworkers and family friends--which ends up being mostly women. Very low key and unofficial, to a small group of people, from a non-expert just a 'friend trying to help with the basics' perspective. I started doing this because 1) Everybody tries to get going again for the new year, and many quit by may or so... and 2) I see coworkers (it's 75% female at my job, digital retail tech) repeatedly doing nonsense fad diets this time of year in hopes to drop pounds but don't.. and then rinse & repeat every couple of months.
Usually it looks something like this, with me adding a sentence or two explaining each and/or talking to them in person:
1) Myth: Low Carb diets are the (only or best) way to lose weight
2) Tip: Do away with diets—focus on lifestyle changes
3) Tip: Hit the weights (many women don't or are apprehensive about it)
4) Myth: You have to eat "clean" and eliminate food groups/types to be healthy or lose weight
5) Tip: Become comfortable in your own skin (i.e. it's ok if you never look like someone on the cover of a fitness magazine)
6) Tip: Results take time--any plan or promotion promising success within "x" amount of time, typically avoid
7) Myth: Eating at night automatically leads to fat gain
8) Tip: No individual food burns fat
Where I need your help: I usually try to send a few links to medical journals and peer reviewed research and I have some to send now (some from here)... however, the average person isn't going to read and/or comprehend any of it. Is there any research you've seen or have on hand regarding the above that even the layperson could understand? *Or, are there any comprehensive science backed articles that are either short or easy to understand that I could utilize?* ..people really believe what they've seen on tv, like almost religiously lol. I may use some of the stickies now that I think about it.
Lastly, if you disagree on any of the above, or have something to add (would like to round out to ten).. please lmk. I'm no expert, no scientist or nutritionist. I only know what I know from experience, plus reading Alan's book, few of Lyle's, and studies/posts referenced here. Would definitely appreciate feedback... this is only going to my family and close work friends.

You can't get much done in life if you only work on the days when you feel good.
