Hey guys,
What i mean by im back to my workouts?
Why i say that is because last summer i sprained my ankle during a kickboxing session. I even tried working out with a sprained ankle, YES thats how crazy i was. My doc then told me i need to rest completely in order for my ankle to heal faster. I was'nt working out at all. Then after that i just got lazy and i never went back to working out. YUP its been over a year and i havent worked out.
So what brings me back here?
My 21st birthday is coming up (its in 7 weeks) and i want to look the best i have ever looked in my entire life!!!!
Im 5'5.5 and I currently weigh 136lbs. Just dropping the pounds isnt going to make me happy, I want to see a difference in my appearence.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
So today was DAY 1:
I worked out for only 10 mins. It makes me sad. I remember working out for over an hour and still have energy. Workout today made me want to throw up, literally
I guess im just going to have to take little steps.
I'll try to beat that tomorrow=)

Todays diet didnt go as expected. But i guess its okay for DAY 1.
Meal 1: at 11:00am (yea i know its late, i woke up at 10:00am)
1/2 cup oats with water (i found no milk in the fridge, dont you hate when that happens)
Meal 2: at 1:00pm (i only gave about 2 hours in between meals since i had work at 5 and i wanted to eat meal 3 before i left)
8 oz chicken patties (is this too much?)
Meal 3: at 3:00pm
scrambled eggs ( 3 egg whites, 1 whole egg and 1 tomato)
1 slice of whole wheat bread
Meal 4: at 8:00pm (this was on my break, i couldnt finish all of it so i ate the remaining when i got home at 11:00pm)
1 serving of white beans with a lot of lettuce
Meal 5: at 11:30pm (this is when i came back home)
The remaining of my meal 4
2 tsp peanut butter
Is eating this late bad? I didnt want to eat at first but if i didnt i would be at 1100 cals for the day which is bad.

Seems pretty low on calories..you might want to think about getting in more protein..some egg whites or whey with the oats in the morning, some chicken or other protein w/ the beans
some fruit and more veggies would be great too!
What kind of chicken patties are those? Your fat seems high for what you ate...Last edited by twinnett; 08-14-2008 at 02:05 AM.

right on twinnett.
white beans are a very good choice, though! I like that you are using legumes in your diet, so good for you and very balanced, as well.
but yeah, hit that oats up with some pp or egg whites or cc!!http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=109800291

Hi nyprincess!
I have to admit I'm intrigued by "oatmeal breakfast cake" What is it?
Do your meal 3 chicken patties have anything mixed in? You may want to get some carbs in that meal especially if it's preworkout (I'm just making this assumption because Meal 4 is postworkout). Just throwing my 2 cents in there! Good luck with the goals - will be following along

I'll surely add more cals and proteins in my diet.
Meal 3 is about 2 hours before i workout. It only has some spices (salt, red chilly powder and ginger garlic paste) and then i grill it. The cake didnt turn out so good. I dont blame the recipe, i just lack good cooking skills lol
green veggies.. um just lettuce (oh god im so embarrassed to say i only eat lettuce)
and the oatmeal breakfast cake i found it on one of the stickies, but i made some changes to it.
Oatmeal Breakfast Cake
(4 servings)
1 cup oat flakes
2 and 1/2 cups water
1/2 cup olive oil
1/4 cup milk
1 and 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup honey (i only used like 1 tsp of honey)
Cook oats in water until soft.
Add olive oil, milk and beat until smooth.
Combine all remaining ingredients except honey and stir into batter.
Divide into two oiled loaf pans. Cook for 55-60 minutes at 350 degrees.
When slightly cooled but not cold, pour honey over bread and allow to soak in.
each serving has about
240 calories
53 from fat
total fat- 6.5g
sat- 1.06g
poly- 1g
mono- 3g
carbs- 40.5g (too many carbs, i know but i tried to balance it out through out the day. I noticed the carbs afterwards and i didnt want to throw it all out since i made a 7 day supply. but if you guys think its unhealthy and its going to screw up my diet then its going right in the garbage)
protein- 8gLast edited by nyprincess; 08-15-2008 at 10:25 PM.

Carbs aren't a bad thing, especially not ones from whole grains. In fact, you need them to help fuel your workouts and recover afterwords. I would try to get some more protein in there. Either eat a protein source with the cakes, or substitue in some protein powder. Tara would be a good person to give some input at modifying the recipe, she is the master of baking!
As for getting more veggies... may I suggest trying a few of my faves? Asparagus, sweet potatoes, broccoli, green beans. Salads are great too, you can really spruce up your lettuce by mixing in some baby spinach, bell peppers, and all kinds of veggies. My salads have it all, onions, celery, carrots, tomatoes, mushrooms and often some fresh herbs too. Basil and cilantro really spice it up and then you don't need so much dressing. Mmmm, can you tell I love my salads?!? lol
Just keep experimenting! You'll find things you like and then can just keep going back to those.

Just dropping in to say hey! Glad you got a good sweat on. Meals are one of those things you just have to feel out. Your cals look fine to me. My only suggestion is find something you are comfortable with long term. If you like eating this way and feel satiated and comfortable then you are on the right path for success.

Today again was 25 mins cardio.
This is what todays meals looked like:-
Meal 1-
1/2 cup oats
1tbsp peanut butter
Meal 2-
vanilla protein pancake with sugar free pancake syrup
Meal 3-
corn tortilla with veggies and beans
Meal 4- post workout
whey protein
Meal 5-
1 cup cottage cheese
Calories 1,535
Fat 54.4 g
Carbohydrate 140.0g
Protein 123.0 g
Question- I workout out at home so i dont have any equipments besides a elliptical stepper which i use for 20 mins a day. I also have some free weights but i rarely use them. My question is, is cardio for 20 mins a day for 5 days a week sufficient for me to see results? And am i on the right track with meals? My birthday is in 6 weeks and i really want to see a difference in the way i look. I know the change wont be drastic as that would take some time but i dont want my lack of information to cause me any little bit of transformation
Please make suggestions.
ThankyouLast edited by nyprincess; 08-19-2008 at 10:18 PM.
