FWIW, it is incredibly easy to make your own homemade peanut butter.
Get some unsalted skinned peanuts, throw them into a food processor (mini mixer) and grind them until they are not only dust but turn into a paste. They will after a time, though you may have to occasionally stir it as the sticky powder sticks to the side. This will take a few minutes. Don't overfill the food processor. I fill 1/3 to 1/2. Depending on how dry the original nuts are, you may need to add a spoonful of oil to avoid it becoming too dry (noticeable mostly next day). I use canola oil due to types of fats and omega-3. After it is a paste, add a small pinch of salt, plus sweetener or honey if that is your taste.

OP it seems you know the bad effects of unnatural PB. We should all make an effort to change the industry by boycotting the artificial crap product. You save 25 cents now... but for the company its probably cheaper to make natural PB than one with added ingredients... they just mark it up... now if no one buys the crap PB they will have to drop it from shelves, and the natural PB in the end will be 25 cents cheaper due to competition reasons.
That 25 cents you save now does not save the $250 you will be paying insurance in the future, or supplements to help burn excess fat off.
